Motorcycle shopping.

Went with Steve today to some motorcycle dealers to look at some used bikes, then off to Raleigh to meet a guy selling an R6 Yamaha.

The dealership had a couple nice bikes, but they were pretty expensive as to be expected.

Here's a GSX-R 750

The ad for the R6 was pretty straight forward, and even in the email exchanges I made with Rob (owner) he explained to me that the bike would require a "little" work to be perfect.

He said he had done some Oil/Gas treatments for the bike and consequently gummed up the carburetors making it stall from time to time. Not really worrying about something like that, I said I'm sure that's something I could rebuild myself. When I got there I was shocked at the condition of the bike.

(I was just going to the ad right now to get some pictures, but he removed the ad... hmm..)

Anyway.

Here are some pictures I took of the bike when I got there:

Rat's nest of make-shift wiring in the front fairing.

A completely smashed gauge cluster.

And some pretty smashed up side fairings.

The other pictures I took were too dark to really see anything.
Needless to say I was a little disappointed, but on the other hand I have a few more bikes I'd like to look at. (Although 3 hours away.)
