I have to write a paper proposal for Thursday.
Using the stories we've read already:
Doyle's "Scandal in Bohemia"
Poe's "William Wilson", "Cask of Amontillado", "Perloined Letter"
Hawthorne's "Minister's Black Veil", "the Birthmark", and "Young Goodman Brown"
We have to compare TWO stories and come up with two points to possibly develop. We need two outside decent sources. And we need questions to help peer review help us.
I'm considering contrasting Irene Adler in SiB (very outgoing and powerful woman, very smart) to Georgianna in Birthmark (shaped by her husband, eventually dies because of him).
OR
possibly compare the Devil in YGB to Montresor in CoA. Both try to lead the other character into the darkness (woods vs. wine cellar)... and ultimately to their dooms.
