Dollhouse Fic: Everything You Made Me

I'm still not sure how I feel about the Dollhouse finale. Joss took my favorite character and revealed him to be something . . . very different. And, while part of me is outraged, another part is . . . strangely fascinated. Those who've followed my fic (involving Jarod and Sydney, Adama and Gaeta, Wallace and Bodie, the list goes on) might have ( Read more... )

Poor Echo. I think there are a lot of us that have mixed feelings about what Joss did with Boyd.

Lovely fic.

I have a hunch I'll be working out my Boyd-issues for a while. Yes, I'm apparently the kind of writer who gets issues from fictional characters;)

Thanks for the lovely review!

Thank you for writing this. Alas, the ten-year jump between finales meant we didn't get to see any of Echo's fall-out with Boyd. She just lost the one person she loved and trusted more than any other, and while we saw some of that in episode 12 - yes, this fic. So, so needed. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the review! I'm a little relieved to know I wasn't the only one who missed seeing some of these elements in canon. Of course, that's what fic is for;)

btw, your icon is adorable.

Oh, I really liked this, I think it gives their story a much greater sense of closure than we get on the show. And I love how she has to deal with her grieving and her multiple personalities at the same time.

Thanks for the review! The snippet with the multiple personalities was actually the last thing I wrote because I wasn't sure quite how to handle it. I'm glad it worked for you in the finished product.

That last line says it all, really. I'm sure Echo would have a lot of confusing emotions in the aftermath from this. Great job touching upon them.
