November 20th is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. It is a day to remember all who were killed during the past year because of Transphobia. As usually we are hosting an event on my campus. Any one who reads this invited to come. I’m going to be one of the featured speakers. The plan is an information table on the 19th, a short memorial on the 20th and the main event Monday evening (the 22nd). We are hoping to have a trans woman and a trans man speak (both older) as well as my younger perspective.
Also I’m the featured speaker at the Colby-Sawyer event on the 17th. They are doing a memorial and I’m actually the only speaker. How cool is that? If anyone wants to come to either of these two events to hear me speak, let me know and I’ll get you the rest of the information. If I know who is coming I can try and hook you all up for carpooling. I would love to have people there. Being a public face, being an out Trans person and talking about is what I want to do with my life (in part) and these are my first two serious speaking engagements.
If you'd love to go but don't have a ride let me know. Maybe I could come get you or I might know some one else who is coming and could get you.
