- It's possible our system was struck by lightning while we were away, which messed up the phones and thus connections (but fortunately not the PCs). Apparently we're aren't alone in the area to have had Strange Things with connections.
- No way of making the hub work, nor even a borrowed one, meaning the phone system needs fixing, at which point we'll install a wireless LAN. Well... we started that already but Sir bought the wrong sort, couldn't figure out the cabling, so has been persuaded to get the experts in (Monday) because there's only so long one can spend staring at many, many cables under desks and trying to make lights blink on a little box.
- Right now, only my PC will connect at all. Weird... and no, I did not sabotage Sir's :)
- Starting with a cold - not doubt a present from Sir who was generous with his in Berlin. As in have chest full of barbed wire and ache all over (or was that the dust and scrabbling under desk for cabling?).
- When calling our electrician, noticed a name in the phone book just above his. Mr GXXXX, Astronaute. Ermmm... eh? I'm pretty sure somebody here is having fun with the 'optional' line for professions when entering self in the phone book. Or maybe we do have an astronaut living next to the hairdresser's in a very, very tiny village. Hm.
- Playtime? What's that?
