On Saturday I finally got to see Brokeback Mountain at the cinema! It was only released here last Wednesday, almost a month after the UK and Finland. Apparently it was absolutely necessary to show garbage like "Les bronzées 3" fifteen times a day, so there was not much room for other films.
UGC got something right though - they put it in Grand Eldorado. Not initially, of course - the honour was reserved for "Get Rich or Die Tryin''" (I have to wonder who was clueless enough to make that decision), but after two days they realized their mistake and switched the films around.
The Grand Eldorado is the largest (700 seats), most beautiful (although for a lot of people way too over the top) and most comfortable of all the cinemas in Brussels. The screen is HUGE. Being able to watch the film there was more than I ever dared hope for - and it did look amazing. If ever there was a movie made for the cinema screen, this is it.
Since I had seen it before, I wasn't expecting to be so emotionally affected this time, but I was. Those two shirts at the end still made me tear up.
