Hey friends! I'm completely and utterly exhausted, so this will not be a totally comprehensive post but I'll do what I can. The drive out here was good, really uneventful until we got into town and I managed to get somewhat lost and ran a toll booth accidently. The good news is that because I am out of state all that we had to do was send a doller with my lisnce plate number to the parking people.
I got a job working at this super upscale hotel called
"W" . I am a "room stylist" aka part of the housekeeping staff along with 13ish other people from here (praise God for getting a ton of us jobs at athe same place!!!!!!!). I start on monday doing new hire paperwork, then on thursday we get to do official orientation and a "scavenger hunt"??? umm....it'll be interesting.
In the mean time we did two days of house gutting, and I started my first landscape design project ever :) I came up with an idea for this little room under our fig tree (yes, we have a fig tree) I'll post before and after pictures when I get done. I don't have my usb camera cable so I will post pictures when I find someone's to borrow.
The bed and breakfast that we are staying in is a set of a couple two story buildings built like 100 years ago or so. The girls accomodations are decent (we have carpet, beds, AC, and four bathrooms), the guys's are mostly concrete floors, really high bunk beds or cots, some AC, and a hose running into a room for a shower. Major props to the men for taking the shaft hardcore. The food has been really good we had burgers, chicken, jambalaya, and a variety of other things, all that stuff that Mike bought is a blessing and a half. It's a bit toasty here as well as a bit humid, but actually pretty tolerable, but apparently it hasn't actually gotten hot here yet...well, I'll post more when I get the time, but for now I'm fried.....off to bed...........I heart you all, and miss everyone a lot. <3 B
