I need a McGyver Icon...
So, I fire up the truck this morning, and she's running really crappy.
I look under the hood, and there's gas coming out of the carburetor... which is bad.
I've had this happen before, so I tear the thing down and clean the crap out of the gas intake thingie (also known as a needle valve) and start putting it back together.
When it comes time to put the throttle linkage (a little metal rod that goes from the pump in the carb to the gas pedal thing), the little spring shoots the clip somewhere (and this thing is tiny) and I'm sitting there with a spring, a rod, and a number of creative swear words.
So, after pondering the subject for quite some time, I finally decided to take the smallest metal washer that I can find, cut through it on one side, squish it so the hole in the middle is more or less oblong, and install it on where the clip should be.
A little extra squeeze to make sure it doesn't go anywhere, and presto!
Instant carburetor. Just add Gas.
So, I've got a copy of that McGyver mastercard commercial on my HDD. Maybe I'll make an icon out of that...
Or maybe I'll just take a picture of my swiss army knife and a roll of duct tape...
