I'm having an ADD sort of day.
I was diagnosed when I was a kid, but apparently they decided that it wasn't bad enough to do anything about it. I notice that it gets worse when I get tired... and tired I am.
So, I appologize if this is a little disjointed.

I've decided on a name for my little red lawn mower. Her name is "Patsy"...
... because she keeps falling to pieces.
I know that
dangermonki is lacking the proper appreciation for that particular cornball moment, but surely SOMEONE out there in FLIST land (aside from my sister) will get it...
And yes, I will stop calling you "Shirley".

I had a boringish day today at work. I talked with Larry (the other System Engineer) for a while about our AZ project, and we figured out why some of the stuff wasn't working. There was a problem in the route table after Larry made some changes to the equipment, and I realize that this means absolutely nothing to anyone.
There was a phone number port today at 11:00. That went pretty smooth. No problems other than ATT/SBC/Ameritech/Michigan Bell/Whoever the fuck they are this week took an extra long time in releasing the number. Go Fig. Now, I have to run up to Manceltucky Mancelona to get that equipment off of the pole. That can happen next week maybe. It's probably not happening tomorrow -- seeing as Flattop and I are going to be stringing wire to a new customer in the building.
I did a little cleanup after a customer who is looking at his traffic and saying "Oscar Mike Golf Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Bravo Bravo Quebec" when looking at his SMTP traffic. Aparently, he's getting teh spam. So, I did a little judicious scrubbing and DNS Jockeying. Now he's getting less spam, and life is good. Or something.
Il Duce and Flattop ducked out early, the bastiges, and John Boy is taking tomorrow off. Of course, tomorrow is the day before his wedding, so I think he should probably not come in. He's got work to do.
That's all the excitement work-wise.

I've been reading some fic over at TTH.
The Other Redhead In My Life. After making a deal with a bieng of power, Xander becomes James Potter. When James is killed, Xander is drawn back to his "real" life, retaining his memories and skills -- and his wife. It's a little sparse right now, but it's coming along pretty fast, and it's well enough written that I didn't have to harp on Mechanics and Character Voice like I usually do in reviews. Add in the concept (and Evil Tinkerbell) and we've got a winner.
Our Mrs. Cobb . Pretty much, the story takes off from "Our Mrs. Reynolds", only Mal isn't the only one who got hitched... Appearances by Willow and various other BtVS Characters.
An Ancient Dilemma. A concept that I've seen before with a fresh new twist. Faith has the Ancient Gene. Aparently, if Rodney's being flabergasted is any indication, that's something special. Mhalachai's got something here, folks.
The Terran Jedi. This is a sequal to
Jedi Harris. What started out as a "What If Xander had gone as Obi-Wan Kenobi for Halloween" fic has snowballed into a saga of massive proportions. It's good stuff. The fact that Xander was able to hold on to the Jedi training and memories alters several key events in the timeline, so it ends up being severely AU. And Wes is still kind of a pansy, which makes it fun!
Are You Ready? Don Sample explores the question, "What if Cassie Frasier was called when Willow did that spell in 'Chosen'?" Appearances by Faith, Xander, The Finns, and Mini!Jack.

I'm going to a wedding Saturday afternoon. I still need to complete the whole "gift assembly" thing. I've got most of the components, but require some attractive packaging.

Dad is going to my punk second cousin's graduation party on Saturday. He was going to shoot down in his 'vette, but now Grandma and Grandpa want to go down with him, so he'll have to take the car or the van. He's a little bummed out.

I'm still reading "Guards! Guards!" It's good.
But, because of
twirlynoodle's drawings of Vimes, I see him as Richard Dean Anderson.

Watched the newest Doctor Who earlier this week. Interesting how they timed the release of that episode with the supposed "Date of the Apocalypse". (06/06/06)
Found the original sheet music for the Doctor Who theme. I have yet to print it out, though.

I have been looking for insurance for my truck (the '46) and I think I may have found some. Haggerty will insure me for $146/year (full coverage). Not too bad, seeing as all of the other classic insurers want $200 and up. And don't get me started on Progressive. Their Historical insurance there is $283/6mos for just PLPD!
For those of you that aren't Michiganders, PLPD is Personal Liability/Property Damage. Basically it's the bare bones "No Comprehensive and No Collision" insurance.
Hagerty, coupled with the DMV only wanting $35.00 for an "Authentic Plate" registration (that is good until I modify the truck, sell it, or die), I should be in business for under $200.00.
Woo, and might I add, a Hoo!

I got my plate renewal forms for the Bonneville in the mail the other day. Aunt Jennifer (the Governor) has raised the plate renewal fee another five bucks this year.
Yippie Skippie.

I'm working on a new part of "Mythtaken". It is from Indiana Jones' point of view, as he muses upon just how he came to be working for the SGC and The Watchers.
After that's done, there'll be a new chapter for "Xander's New Old Car".

That's pretty much it for now. Am going to bed.
