Guess what I got running yesterday?

If you guessed a 1946 Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup truck named Number Seven, then you would be correct.

How did I get it running?

I used a magic bullet. It's called Seafoam. It'll fix what ails your fuel delivery system. I'm still not sure if it was that the gas was a little stale, or if there was still something buggered up in the carburetor (probably a mixture of both), but I put some in the tank (probably a bit more than necessary, but I didn't have any measuring cups, so there you are) and threw the charger on the battery (5° F and being drained to within an in of your life is not good for the old 6v car batteries) and went inside for a while...

And came out again and gave it a try. Third crank, and she was chugging like a mofo. Of course, that was because the mixture was a little bit off, and I had the choke out, but after she warmed up a little bit I was able to make adjustments and she started running like a clock. She'll need a little bit of tweaking come spring, but I think we'll be all right. :-)

Gertrude (The Tractor) is still running good, too... and I just realized that the movers didn't take my extra set of tires. Damn and blast. Oh well. I'll tie them to the flat bed of the truck with the running boards and we'll be good.

I still need to pack a bunch of stuff up here at the office and ship it to Tampa so that I have it there. I'm going to send down some stuff that I'm going to use for training and testing purposes (Routers, RAS devices, servers, et cetera). It'll be great. Just you wait, 'Enry 'Iggins, just you wait.

I'm a little disappointed in myself. I was going to put some audiobooks on my ipod before I packed up my computer and I completely forgot to.

I got rid of a bunch of stuff over at Steve and Kat's last night. That air conditioner that I used to use in my bedroom will probably be installed in their living room this summer, and I managed to unload most of my pantry on Kat. :-) I kept a lot of the small stuff; Spices and Cream of Tartar and the like. I also kept the oil.

I got another knife safe for my chefs knife. Unfortunately, the store was out of the 8" model, so I ended up buying their last 10" model. It's a little big, but it'll keep the knife from stabbing someone while it's in the box, so it's all good.

We got L dedicated at church on the 18th. It was very quick, and the pastor was very good. I liked him quite a bit.

There was some snickering when I introduced myself as the godfather.

Daideo (Kat's dad, and that's Irish for "Grandpa" or "Granddad") didn't come, and the girls (Kat and her sisters) are not pleased with him. At all. The other grandparents managed to make it, though, as did one of the great grandparents. (She's quite robust for an octogenarian with bad joints). The other great-grandparents are either gone, or too frail to travel.

B made it back from her honeymoon all right and was in attendance, as was her hubby and all of the aunts and uncles (save one, who was absent because the aunt didn't want him there) and L's cousins.

It has been announced to me that I am S's godfather as well.

I was, of course, just fine with that.

:-D

She's getting pretty big. She was 2 months old on the 17th, and she's already into 6 mo sizes

As you may have noticed, I have signed up for twitter. It's pretty nice. I can mini-blog from my phone without burning up voice posts.

That's it for now. Meeting Grandpa for Lunch.
