It's been a while since I've posted any, and some years since I've felt the need to create any. I wonder why?

On the first warm day
The Old Crow caws with pleasure
free of pain, at last

My father, age 85, died peacefully today.

Melodies abound
Birds in the warm winter sun
Cats watch carefully

Oh, the inversion -
Even the long-haired kitty
hurries inside, chilled.

The e8 mandala
the shape of the universe?
Or the snow falling?

Commentary:
The E8 mandala is 16 by 8 squares superimposed on each other. There's a surfer physicist who thinks it describes the relationships of subatomic particles visually. I leave it to the reader to investigate further.

But, snow is falling today.
