I just now found these comments but they are pretty nice. I will gladly come hang out but you may need to sell me on the turtle-hunts.
I think I was really angry at the website. I think I went to it when I was feeling bad once for commiseration, but instead I felt like everyone was trying to one-up me. I have more perspective now because Chris makes a point of showing me only the funny ones.
What some people would call "ability" is something that is kind of just more like autism, the ability of men to exercise their right brain all the time when their left brain won't work. In that way I do see an intrinsic ability for certain men to be really good at math and science. The average of 3 billion men and 3 billion women for aptitude would be totally the same, but probably more often it's men who have the capacity to get obsessed with science and lose interest in everything else.
But it's true. The president of Havard is probably the last person who should be presenting that stuff. (And it sounds like he was kind of obnoxious about it.)
