I had about a week off for the holidays. This is what I chose to do with it...
I already have an idea for how I want the rest of this story to play out. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I suck MASSIVELY at drawing the Disney Duck characters. But I'll probably try anyway because I REALLY dig this idea!
Random Artist Notes:
-This plot bunny attacked when I realized that, according the the timelines of both Talespin and Ducktales, Scrooge isn't much older than Molly and Kit (Talespin takes place around the 1930s and Ducktales takes place in the late 80s/early 90s). And I thought it would be cool if Scrooge's last big adventure before striking it rich in the Yukon involved him going on a treasure hunt with Molly and Kit while those two attempt to run Rebecca's airplane delivery business all alone for the first time
-I aged them up in this comic so that Kit is 19 and Molly is 14. And I made Kit the same height as Molly because I figure the poor boy will always be short for his age and that Molly will eventually be taller than him (luckily, by the time Kit's an adult, he's secure enough not to be bothered by it).
-I like to think that Molly and Kit grow up to be best friends and start considering themselves "siblings" LONG before Rebecca and Baloo make it official. This view mostly comes from one issue of the Talespin comics (
which I scanned here because it's AWESOME) where Molly straight up TELLS Kit that she feels this way and introduces him as "my brother" when a stranger asks who he is.
-I imagine that Molly would grow up to be very smart and a savvy business woman just like her mom. And I think it will be fun to pit her against a cheap bastard like Scrooge McDuck as her first client.
-Here are some of the "brainstorm pages" for this idea. The first page has some good poses; but my feeble attempts to draw Scrooge without a reference should make it obvious why I'm hesitant to continue this story >_<

So, what do you guys think? Would you like to see this one get finished? Will you be able to overlook my inability to draw Scrooge McDuck correctly if I do another comic?
