A brief summary of my last night's somewhat coherent epic dream.

May 28, 2008 01:11

Last night I dreamt it was New Years. The Year 2000. They were saying the world might very well end that night, so my family was watching out the front windows to see what that might look like.
Midnight came, and everything stayed the same at first.
I left my house and went outside, because I never want to stay in my house when I'm dreaming.
When I walked out into the street, everything started falling apart.
Things began to not work the way they were supposed to work.
First the doors and cars stopped functioning the way cars and doors function. Then some people were sinking into the roads and sidewalks, because those had stopped working too.
Then the people. Their organs must have stopped working, some of them, and they were screaming and suffocating and falling apart. Some just disappeared or blackened out.
Everyone who was still intact continued to wander about like me, watching or ignoring.
What do you do, really, when the world is ending.
I came across a male companion at one point, the potential love interest, only to lose him later in a swimming pool. Who knows why we got in that swimming pool in the first place (what do you do, really, when the world is ending), but it was filled with persons. The sides of the pool and the ladders stopped working. People couldn't climb out, then the bottom wasn't really there either.
Someone with long hair and a beard was holding out a stick for people to grab, but everyone's hands(except for mine) passed right through. It too was no longer working as a stick ought to work. Those people drowned, and I left the pool with the bearded man.
He eventually wasn't there either, so I retuned to my house which was one story now(sunk into the ground)and empty. Also it was covered in plants and giant peacock feathers. I suppose that was the part my dreamself questioned most, why giant peacock feathers were growing on my house.
There weren't so many people wandering around anymore. I was mostly alone.
I began to sink into the floor. I suspected that this was the end.
Fell through.
Fell through the ground to a grey place), with people in coats and gas masks rushing around all serious-like like in a hospital operation room. (it was really bright like when I looked up at the sky yesterday with dilated pupils; I remember looking at my eyes in the dream, and I didn't even have irises)
"Our systems failed." They weren't talking to me, but they said (or maybe I just knew?) that that was The Apocalypse. The Apocalypse as in that was what they named the systems failure, I guess like the Y2K. They didn't think the world would last that long. Anyways, I survived it.

The dream ended somewhere after that, I woke up and felt very relieved that my room was still here.
