Just a random American stopping by from scans_daily to lend moral support and approval, even if I never really embraced Elastica as an avatar of pophood. Or of anything, actually.
I particularly like how the leftmost character appears to be crying Jean Grey's Dark Phoenix Tears of Alchemical Imminent Doom. Rock!
Big thumbs up, and looking forward to this. I'm friending your journal, if that's acceptable.
On another note, it's really hard to do a decent Cyrillic "L" in MS Paint, so kudos to whomever attempted this feat.
You really should post more of this on the hive mind of scans_daily as it is produced. Pimpage is entirely acceptable there.
Shiny! The leftmost character is a girl called Beth who... oh, is that the time already? We'll get to that eventually.
Oh - it's not actually Cyrillic. It's... well, that'll be telling. Okay, it's Theban.
And yeah, I'd like to definitely - we're doing another four of these B-side adverts as well as the proper page - but I feel as if I'm taking advantage by doing this. I mean, I read Scans_Daily, but if all I ever post is my own stuff... well, it's terribly self-serving and ungentlemanly.
It might indeed be Theban, but I have to tell you, tovarisch, that there are some suspiciously-close-to-Cyrillic letters in them thar hills.
Really, I wouldn't worry about posting your own stuff to scans_daily. I'll just presume to speak for the entire community here. (Presumptious? What, me?) People really, really enjoy it when creators come by and 1) post their stuff and 2) engage in discussion about said stuff, as long as they can take some concrit and ribbing. We're friendly.Join the hive mind, tovarisch. You know you wanna
( ... )
McKelvie did some gooey stuff to the letters in Photoshop. It's all mad science to me. I barely understand Word.
Anyway, you've convinced me. I may wait until the next two B-sides are done - Emily Aster and Kid-with-knife - so I have a more sizeable post, but then will lob 'em up. And be all chummy in the internet fashion.
I envy your background history, by the way. I wasn't musically illiterate as a kid, but my background is pure Motown and Northern Soul pre-teen, with splashes of other bits and pieces.
I've friended you in return, so you can probably see all me secret hidden posts with art and stuff on. Sebadoh are awful. And I'm planning seeing V for Vendetta on an Imax screen, so even if it's shit I can be amazed how BIG it is.

it was great last night, sorry you had to meet me in that horrible condition

And don't worry about the condition. I don't believe I was in much of a better one. Or anyone actually.

got home safe?

But it WAS glorious.
WHICH IS ALL THAT MATTERS.
Yup - made my way across London and got a train without any hassle. Hell - could have stayed for another 3/4 of an hour and still have made it.

I'm never ungentlemanly.
For that read "Rarely".
