I know there are a couple of webcomic fans here, so may I poiunt you to an interesting littl eeffort I just found tonight... "Digger": A wombat, a dead god, and a very peculiar epic. Good reading.
When you get to the part where the metal bird things are chasing our hero don't worry. His eventual solution was so creatively hilarious I had to stop reading. I think I likes this comic.
