🎶As we danced in the night
Remember how the stars stole the night away🎶
Another of the Sunflowers has come back to the area, a late bloomer among our group, she was born into the mặt trời sắc sảo since her father was the head of our local group. Her mother was one of Aha Tae's nieces, and had married a Hispanic American Vietnam Vet who had helped in the rescue of their village and family. Chahley was one of those kind of guys that was quiet, trying to do the right thing, but having a nasty fucking temper (like me) and accidentally knocked out his little sister's tooth and cut her lip bad enough to give her a pretty serious scar when she was trying to calm him one day after he couldn't take any more beatings from his father. It scared him, and made him feel guilty, so he signed up and never regretted a day of it since. I've seen his medals, when his sister and wife were sitting polishing them before tucking them away again. He never wore even one, just the ring for his military service and his wedding band along with a thick gold and platinum braided chain his great grandfather had made for his grandmother that he inherited.
His daughter, Leannie is what we always called her, was so cute, and always loved to dance. She had more of the Hispanic look of her father's line than Asian of her mother's, and that hasn't really changed, but she was always adorable and now is
Leannie grooved to the rhythm wherever she heard it, and it seemed like she heard it EVERYWHERE. Always moving, with her sweet smile and lovely looks, she always got the best kind of attention, too.
absolutely lovely. Back when we were kids, and she would be able to be out with us when her father and mother was off doing business or having a date night, she would listen to the singing and just start grooving to the music. It's fitting she comes back now, because like then she would grab my hands and dance with me all through the month of September, a way to give me a nice respite from the familial bullshit that would play out as my approaching birthday would get them all running around in a tizzy as they made effort to make it all about them, and find ways to disappoint me or treat me like absolute shit so that I hated what was supposed to be my special day. Leannie offered a sense of joy to offset that, always, to dance in such a carefree way that we could get lost in the sound and find bliss in one another's company as our souls connected with the vibe.
🎶There was us
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days🎶
Yesterday's musical group in the Junction was a band formed by some of my old high school friends, Chad A. plays lead guitar and does some singing for them, their lead singer is a relation to the Mourning Dove, and the others are people I didn't have much (if anything) to do with. But the set they performed was great, And the singer was fantastic! It was mostly 80's covers, but I heard a couple of more
An old diesel engine that this farmer put to good use after retiring when he couldn't run his farm any more, he makes homemade ice cream churned with this contraption. and sells it at the local farmers markets around the area. People love it!
original pieces being worked on since I arrived early to see about helping set up and get in a short visit with them. I visited with other friends who were there for the farmers market and to see their show. But others weren't up to coming and a couple had to leave early. Xey did come for a while. She visited a while with Leannie too, and they went off to do a little shopping in the local boutiques and get some of the homemade ice cream one of the sellers there offers. (I wish they did non-dairy varieties.)
When they got back, I watched Leannie dancing to the music that had just started. Xey was heading home to change into something lighter and more comfortable after a quick job interview, but would be back. Like when we were kids, Leannie was swaying with the groove, really getting lost in the sound. I loved watching that lithe, curvy form and realized how much she had changed, matured, but remained the same as when we were young in that best way. She got me up to dance to a couple of songs after catching sight of me. And Xey danced with us both when she returned.
Stunningly beautiful now, Leannie shows off that curvaceous form, losing herself in the sound as the music plays, and gives a big smile to any of the old friends and community members she recognizes from her childhood.
I pointed out that Leannie looked like she was actually making love with each note of the music, in how enticing she moved. And Xey watched a few moments before joining in the same kind of motions. Damn! They looked so fine, and I moved with them until I couldn't hardly move at all. People were mentioning our "Dirty Dancing" moves, and thought it was cool. And after Xey had to leave again, Leannie went off to sit with her mom and dad and cool down a bit but said she loved seeing me, and was looking forward to dancing with me again soon.
The former aunt was late from work, but did arrive to hear a couple of songs, danced with me to one and we got a great laugh from it. She chatted with a few others there, and then as we were just cooling down to listen to another tune, a strong wind picked up very quickly. I checked around for funnel clouds, as one of the stage lights blew over and nearly hit Chad A. during his performance. They finished the song, and I approached the stage to make sure he was okay, and see if they wanted or needed help with packing up and loadout. But they declined, and gave the announcement that safety comes first, so they were wrapping up early. I'm hoping to be able to visit with them more, soon. But was glad I got to hear them play, and not only catch up with another old friend but dance with her - and others - as well. September is coming up, and Leannie is back, and said she intends to keep me from getting down as assholes continue to try to fuck over my birthday, like when we were kids.
