Today something caught my eye while I was standing in line at Safeway... "BROCCOLI WITH CHEESY CHEDDAR". I'm sorry. Did I miss something? Doesn't the fact that it's cheddar imply that it's cheese therefore implying it would be cheesy? I don't know why, but things like this bother me and I ponder them until my brain hurts. Maybe I should be an editor of some sort... not a teacher.
Well, I'm on spring break! That's so crazy... I can still remember updating this last year during Spring break and being pissed because everyone was going somewhere cool except me who was staying in good old Salem, Oregon. Well guess what people who think they're so cool that they get to travel during the break??? I'm still pissed because I'm still staying in good old Salem Oregon. Yup, and I plan on living up every single second of it.
FOR EXAMPLE- Tomorrow is Megan's 21st birthday! She just found out this morning she has strep throat! Impeccable timing! Yay! Oh well, no bacterial infection is stopping us two best friends from going up to Portland and celebrating being legal together for the first time. The potential plan is to hang out tonight, leave after my dentist appointment tomorrow, eat dinner with her family, find hot "going out" shirts at forever 21 and then possibly hit the town.
It shouldn't go unmentioned that last weekend I had a fantastic Saturday with a fantastic friend! It started at about 12:30 am when I went to bed and then 2:30 am when I woke up, showered, did some aerobic excercises, ate some cheerios, read some of my current pleasure-novel "The Devil Wears Prada", and left my house at 3:30am to drive my buddy Justin to the airport for his "Callin Baton Rouge" adventure. After getting just a little lost, I bid the soldier farewell at the airport at about 5 am and arrived at my friend Marissa's house at about 6 am. (Yes, it's now 6 am and I've been up for only 3 and a half hours!) A tired Marissa opened the door to her house, led me up the stairs, pointed to a guest room with the most beautiful twin bed I'd ever laid my eyes on. Praise the Lord for the bed at the Boysen house! I collapsed and was awoken by a perky Marissa at about 9:30. I felt much better having 5 hours of sleep in my body, rather than 2.
We visited with her fam for awhile, grabbed a Dutch Bros and were off for LINCOLN CITY. First stop? Duh. Outlets. So Obv. Next stop? Still Obv. Burger King! We also saw Inside Man with Denzel Washington... it was a good one. I'd recommend it.
The best part of the trip? Actually, there's 2 best parts if I'm allowed. Marissa's grandparents and great grandma were staying at their beach house right by Moes and we had dinner with them and visited. They were amazing and I hope I can have the energy, passion, and sense of humor that her "Great" does when I'm 91 years old. I was in awe of her. We left the city at about 8pm... and yes, we were tired yet still found the energy to sing some classics such as "Ironic", "Getting Jiggy With It" and "Sin Wagon" at the top of our lungs all the way home. And I do mean ALL the way home.
OH man. Jazzercize tonight with Tara for the first time since Summer. WOOO.
