After almost 2 years of living together...with 3 other roommates, Wes and I FINALLY have our own place!!!
I can not even begin to describe how happy I am! We needed this so badly. As many of you know, we've been talking about moving out for about a year now. It never seemed to be the right time financially to actually go through with it. However, after some seriously not great experiences with our roommates a few weeks ago, we finally got the kick in our asses that we needed to actually get out. On Saturday we went apartment hunting and the 3rd and last place we saw, we absolutely fell in love with!
It's the 2nd floor of a beautiful Victorian house in Alameda with 12 foot ceilings (gush!) and hardwood floors. The bedroom is the biggest room in the house (the entire width of the house) with gorgeous HUGE windows with stained glass at the top. The living room is smaller but it's enough for us. The kitchen is also nice and big with lots of natural sunlight. The owners are absolutely wonderful and say that we have made their day by saying that we'd move in just as much as they made ours for asking us to.
We'll be allowed to have an indoor cat, 2 if we want to. Oh! HUGE gorgeous back yard that we are allowed to share.
The hilarious thing is that the rent for this entire apartment is only $50 more than what we're paying for 1/4 of one now. AND no roommates! We only have to clean up after the 2 of us now! We get an ENTIRE fridge and kitchen to ourselves!! YAY!
We're also like, 5 blocks from a beach, like a real, actual beach that people go to. Granted, it's still the bay, but I never go in the water at the beach anyway.
No more having to go the whole way accross the Bay Bridge for groceries, and gas.
Only 24 more days of this house. I can not even put into words how happy that makes me. If I want to go to the kitchen to get some water in the middle of the night in my underwear... I CAN!! My house, MY house! Ok, well, OUR house, but still! Everything will look the way we want it to! I can't wait to decorate.
So this is my incredible news. If you live out this way (or even if you don't and feel like coming out here) and you wanna help us move...we'll give you pizza and some beer!
YAY!!
