First baby picture
We had out first ultrasound yesterday. :) When I saw my baby and heard his/her heartbeat I teared up big time. It is such a beautiful miracle and I feel so honored that God has blssed me with it! We found out that I'm not as far along as we thought. I'm only 9 weeks, they thought I was 11 or 12 before the picture. I finally told my principal today and we talked about my options since I haven't taught there long enough to have a sabbatical. I told her I was really concerned about the fact that they could replace me and not let me come back if I took longer than my sick days. She looked at me and said they wouldn't replace me. While I want to believe her, I'd have to see it in writing before it'll give me full peace of mind. My first option: I can take a semester off, use up all my sick days receiving 100% pay, take extended sick leave at 65% pay, and go without pay the rest of the semester and come back after Christmas break. My second option: I can take a full year without pay but still pay for my insurance. If I had my choice I'd go with option two because I want all the time I can get with my baby. However, Brandon has yet to find a much better job (grumble) so I don't see myself getting to do that. :'( It's extremely frustrating, but I'm not going to go into that because I'm extremely tired from doing homework late every night and going into work early every day this week. I need to go get some much needed sleep.
