This weekend was great, today fucking sucked

Mom and I left for LA at 4 AM from my Uncles house in Mtn View. About 6.5 (including stops) hours later, we made it to my Aunt Marie's house.
We proceeded to have fun and plan for the family reunion the next day.

Saturday was the Family Reunion. OH-MY-GOD! I didn't remember how many cousins I have! DOOOOOD! Too many pictures. And what's kinda sad, is that my cousins (around my age) are having babies. I think the new thing in my family, even though the majority of them are CATHOLIC, is to get pregnant and then decide a few years down the road if they want to be married.

Sunday I hung out with my mom's sister Aunt Royan and my 3/5 1st cousins: Nicole (jr in HS), Nino (senior, I think), and Vincent with his wife and his ADORABLE kid. They are great.

Also found time to hang out with Becca and her boytoy Mark and the MOST ADORABLE BABY IN THE WORLD! OMG, Hailey is adorable, and I love how tiny she is. JUST SO CUTE!

Got home this morning from LA around 12-ish. Dropped off the rental (prius - practically no nose/front end and parallel parking in that things SUCKS) and waited for my paycheck and went home.

About 4:45 tonight, my mother gets a call from her ex-niece-in-law, Tish, saying that my mom's ex-mom-in-law is currently being taken off life support. The part that really sucks about this, is that in 3 weeks, we are flying up to Seattle, Wa and visiting not only this woman, but the entire family (minus the ex husband). Now mom says that we are not going up to Seattle because her own children cannot call and tell her that their grandmother is in the hospital. She is in that anger stage of grief... I know she will change her mind. But I just hate that just as we were reconnecting with that side of the family some higher power decided to take away my mother's favorite person on that side of the family. I just cannot believe this.

I accept it has happened, but why right when mom was starting to reconnect?

Fuck.

Fuck.
