Though I spent most of last week either preparing for my friend to come or being with her, once she left and my body tried to succumb to exhaustion (and PlagueCold2.0 from my cast), I managed to catch up a leeeeeetle bit on TV. For lack of anything coherent to say about my wonderful (possibly poverty-inducing) mini-break from my life, here's my recap:
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
Castle -- Still loving it. I wish Castle & Beckett would hook up already (Castle ex-wife annoys me), but I love the whole discussion about someone meaning enough to you to break them out of prison. There's maybe 5-8 people not related to me that I would do that for. It really is a sign of true love. Of course, I'm a big sap... and it doesn't help that the adorable female part of the prison break couple was one of my very dear friends. I'd break her out of prison for sure.
No Reservations -- Paris wasn't as grand as I expected, though that could have something to do with my watching it on the day when I was using all my energy to pretend I wasn't getting sick by cleaning and cooking. Maine was highly entertaining, though. No Uncle Stevie connections, but a really good episode overall. I'd want to go there if I stayed away from winter and didn't have to eat fish...
Smallville -- ZZZZZZZ... yeah, yeah, final season. Whatever. Their portrayal of Lois and Clark just bores me to tears. Never thought I'd miss Chloe, but jeez. 'Twas very nice to see James Marsters come back, though. Makes me really want him to be on a good sci-fi series... you know, like the new Torchwood...
The Vampire Diaries -- Holy Hot Damon, Batman. I mean, how hot can amoral get? I'm going to miss Mason (because, um, he was hot). I like that Jeremy seems to be growing some real man-balls and dealing with his shit life rather than being all EmoTeen about it. Bonnie's getting on my nerves... not that I think everyone on the show should love vampires, but she's just becoming all bitch and no sympathy and then to act like Elena's the one who wronged her. Get over yourself, witchy.
And, OK, really? Do we REALLY have to put up with this "I love you but I can't be with you" BS from Elena and Stefan now? Like Katherine wasn't going to wreak havoc on their lives no matter what? Like she'll just back off if she sees they're no longer together? Bottom line is Stefan doesn't love her and never will, but she'll keep trying until someone kills her. Elena and Stefan ending their relationship is not going to help anyone. It's just going to make them both miserable and mopey, and there's already enough of that one the show. The only light I can see is if they both become useless lumps and the show becomes all about Damon and Alaric...
