If you douse me again, and I'm not on fire, I'm donating you to a city college.

It's bloody fucking roasting here in the Valley. Sadly I had to abandon the mall and B&N as I was getting dangerously close to actually buying something. I resisted a really cute tube tunic and an even cuter sexy Victorian-style sundress. I resisted numerous books - but when I nearly bought a $25 hardcover because my resolve was finally fading I decided to escape.

I did have a wonderfully cool bunch of hours though, starting with a jaunt into the Coffee Bean (mmmm... Apricot Ceylon Soy Latte) and seeing Iron Man.
I admit defeat. So many people told me to see it and I have been resistant. Well, they were right - it's really fucking cool. Robert Downey Jr. is brilliant and funny and just plain wonderful. And ohhhhhh if someone had told me about Jarvis I would have run out to see it sooner. If any of my buds haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

And speaking of superhero movies... is it time for Batman yet? That movie is going to emotionally destroy me and I know it - but damnit I want my Batman!
And speaking of sexy Batman... while at B&N I read what I hadn't yet of Buffy Season 8, part two. If I had any doubts about being able to still relate to Buffy they were removed upon the sharing of romantic fantasies between Buffy and Willow - one in particular in which Buffy fantasizes about Little Women Bale AND Reign of Fire Bale... along with a Victorian ball, horses on the moors and a balloon ride to safety. Now THAT is a romantic fantasy.

I still have several hours of sweltering sunlight to survive before it's cool enough to move more than three feet per hour. Until then I think I'll keep reading Heart-Shaped Box (it's scaring me on pretty much every page, but I can't stop reading it - it's SO good) and wait for the new episode of Doctor Who to download.
I'm scared for the end of this season. Very scared.
