I love that you added a deleted scene!! I really like the tie in with the family. You gave us enough information to feel like we had an idea of what was going on for a while, history known kind of thing. Poor Dean seeing Sammy shot by his Angel. "That was unpleasant."

This was eeeexcellent.

“Thank you,” Castiel says, and Dean beams with pride at the familial bonding moment. That is, until Castiel pulls a handgun out of his trench coat and shoots Sam in the head. There's a lot of blood.

Awesome in every way, OMG. I love Sam here, I love "did you bring the handcuffs," I love the link back to the notion of family. It's perfect and goes a long way toward filling in the main story, I think. Beautiful! ♥

Thanks! I thought of this scene pretty early on in writing. It didn't fit in the main narrative, of course, but somehow I just couldn't leave it out.
