So this may alienate any real music people on my flist BUT...
I'm a huge Backstreet Boys fan.
Tonight they're playing in my hometown and not only will I be there, I'm going to the afterparty too. At least it's not last tour, where I bought a VIP souncheck pass so I could meet them. (It was worth it).
I don't really like the new album. (This is an undertstatement). But I have faith that now they're away from Jive they'll be able to make the music they really want to make - better music. Rockish music? And a Backstreet show is always fun, even if the new tracks are kind of pathetic.
Backstreet fandom was my first fandom, and I still love those boys like childhood friends I used to read about having sex with each other... what?
So it's me, my bestie, my sis and the boyfriend going to the show tonight. This'll be the first tour my mom's not seeing and I'm actually feeling kind of sad about that. I'll have to buy her a t-shirt or something.
Concert review/squee-fest coming tomorrow. Will definitely contain the sentence "Nick Carter is a sexy beast."
