Parks & Rec: New favorite show

I've recently fallen utterly in love with Parks and Recreation. It took me way too long to come around - in my defense, I'd never liked Amy Poehler in anything, and I didn't like that it was a knock-off of The Office; I was utterly wrong on the first part and still kind of wish they at least referred to a camera crew - but now I am completely in ( Read more... )

I like this idea, except for the "no television after breakfast" one. bredalot May 2 2011, 02:58:22 UTC
It's the show that I look forward to most each week (apart from Game of Thrones and Doctor Who, but those can sometimes feel chore-y until I'm actually watching them, because they're INTENSE). And I TOTALLY agree about Ben & Leslie: there aren't any other couples at the moment that I really care about, but they're wonderful. And yes, I love that all the characters are lovable (and even though I don't particularly like Tom, I still find him endearing on occasion).

Basically, I agree with everything you said. I'm not excited for The Office and 30 Rock anymore, and Community still makes me laugh a lot but I'm not as much in love. I think I started having Expectations, which is clearly a terrible idea!

I thought he said something about how it was like 18 years ago? And that's part of why it was so absurd that people kept bringing it up. But I could be wrong.

And though it makes me sad to say, I'm with you on Bones. They don't do as much of the cool bone stuff anymore, the stories are mostly boring me, and I'm not nearly as invested in the characters as I used to be. The spin-off episode was execrable, and I only kept watching (on Hulu) because I was too drunk to go to sleep. I nearly started yelling when Brennan said her WORST LINE EVER: "How can finding a treasure be stealing?" REALLY, DR. OF ANTHROPOLOGY WHO HAS OBVIOUSLY STUDIED ARCHAEOLOGY? YOU'RE GOING THERE? EVEN INDIANA JONES KNEW THIS ONE! Whoops, started yelling again. But really.
