Why, exactly, is Brennan's high school making a big deal out of their 16-year reunion? Makes no sense. Now, if they'd been the class of 95, I wouldn't be annoyed at all. How hard would THAT be? (Maybe it would put too much strain on the fact that Brennan is already absurdly young for her job. I don't know.)
And how adorable is Wendell? (Also, WEIRD: that's my boss's name, and he's about 45, and I should NEVER EVER EVER be thinking that sentence.)
This episode was an awesomely painful return to season 1 Brennan, when she literally did not know how to interact with other people. She's grown a lot since then (thanks to Booth, with help from Angela), so I'd be annoyed if there weren't such a good reason for it: back in that context of high school, of course she's going to revert.
And I LOVED all the questions about how "Bobby" and Temperance's marriage was working out, especially after last week's heart-crushing discussion of its impossibility (at least for now). It was fun to sit there and KNOW how much they love each other and how painful this must be, especially for Booth, who was the one who had to field most of those questions and who was the one who best knew that the answer was actually no.
But Booth? You're not in middle school. Dance like a NORMAL PERSON. GOD. (They were totally adorable, though.)
If they actually wanted us to believe that the custodian was the murderer, they should've tried less hard. Thus, I don't believe they ever wanted that, and they were just trying to show us how the "creepy" ones aren't always - like with Brennan herself, who even Cam mentioned (justifiably) was occasionally creepy when she admired the murderers. This is something I can only agree with, seeing as how about a quarter of my classes at college have been about death in some way or another, even if I was never quite as weird as Brennan.
The outcome of the case was pretty obvious: it was pretty clearly about Brad, and it was also pretty clearly not him - even the characters never seemed to suspect him after the initial discussion. So it had to have been another girl, and she was the one who said they were all so jealous.
As one of my RL friends said, this episode needed more awkwardness between Booth and Brennan. But only a little: Brennan was so unusually awkward that I couldn't have handled much more!
Overall, a much more satisfactory episode than the X-Files "pretending to be married" episode, but why, oh why, did they have to have it NOW?
And now, appropriately, I'm off to a fancy party (like prom for college, kind of). Should be fun!
