I am very, very upset with ABC right now. I kind of feel like someone died (not someone I knew very well, obviously, but someone I thought would live for a very long time). Ned and Emerson are shocked and saddened, too. :( My only consolation is that now people know who these actors are: Lee Pace is getting cast in all sorts of things, Kristin Chenoweth is popping up all over, Anna Friel can do an American accent. I hope to see them in lots of new things, because they're all wonderful. (Also, poor Lee Pace, what with his doing an awesome job in fantastic shows that get cancelled prematurely.) Is there any chance of saving it?
I am also now going to watch all of Dirty Sexy Money in protest, because apparently that was good, too. I watched the pilot of Eli Stone and didn't like it at all, so I'll skip that one.
And now, The Office (SEE GUYS, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T CANCEL A GOOD SHOW):
Jim, that was a REALLY REALLY BAD idea. Seriously, what were you thinking? A ring is one thing, but a house is expensive. I can't believe that didn't bite him in the ass. I was sure it was going to. I think HE was sure it was going to, once he really looked at the house. Ahahaha at the permanent clown painting, though (maybe it was a wizard's house before! A wizard with very bad taste and a penchant for Permanent Sticking Charms!). :P That thing was terrifying. And I loved that he was turning the garage into an art studio. That actually WAS sweet. :D
Also, hahaha at John Krasinski lapsing into Bostonese. "Realitor". Seriously, could no one teach him how to say that word correctly, or does it actually work for Scranton? Cause I hear that and go, "Oh, Boston."
I don't even know what to say about the Michael/Toby storyline. Even I, sad innocent little person that I am, know that weed doesn't look like that. I loved, though, that Michael felt guilty at the end. For all he hates Toby, he still didn't want him to be arrested.
ETA:
Also: I think Pam really didn't like the house at all. I think it is comically far from what she would have chosen, added to which, it's Jim's parents' house. Terrible house, but she loved the gesture. She loves the idea that Jim loves her enough to buy a house for her, attempt to make a home for her, even without asking. Even if it's borderline stalkerish.
Also, I want them to have a housewarming party to which they have to invite their coworkers (against their will, but Andy and Phyllis and Michael and Kelly keep asking them about it), and for Jim to confide in Dwight when asked about the spare room they don't use: "I didn't want to mention it," he says, looking around wide-eyed, "but it's haunted." Cue Dwight performing exorcisms, and a giggling Jim and Pam rigging things to fall as he walks past them, and Dwight looking nervous around Jim in the office, like maybe Jim brought the ghost to work with him (we can even mention Jim's "telepathy" again!). Oh man, that'd be awesome.
