I love scenes between Sweets and Angela. He just kind of sits there and makes psychological comments she doesn’t agree with or awkward noises that she doesn’t hear, and she just talks and talks until she comes up with a solution (that he doesn’t necessarily think is the best way) and then gives him all the credit. It’s awesome. Also, how adorable is Sweets? He is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. This show makes every character lovable.
I love how it’s not “I go first/guy goes first/FBI goes first,” but simply, “gun goes first.” This is a simple, logical, clear way of deciding which Brennan will always bow to. Nice, Booth.
Though he does continue to be quite dense. Way to take forever to understand, Booth. But I think it’s weird that Brennan mistakes his surprise for offense (well, maybe not actually weird; she just seemed overeager). Of COURSE he’s surprised - he’s never known Angela to be interested in a woman at all, and he has seen her with lots of men. Also, they’re both gorgeous, and of course his mind jumps there. :P And sometimes, I just want to hug him. Such a sweet story, about his aunt. :D
Oh, Daisy. Seriously, girl, even I don’t like you, and I love dorky and overly enthusiastic people. It’s why I first liked Sweets. And seriously, with the amount of talk going around about how important it was to be unbelievably careful, you still, as the most inexperienced person there, jump right in and pull out the skull, without any of the care and delicacy they've been mentioning? Are you crazy?
Love Brennan’s silver oval earrings, in the skull reconstruction scene. Very pretty. I guess she’s been wearing them all along, but I just noticed.
Do we think Angela and Roxie will last? I mean, no, but do we think it’ll last long enough for Roxie to appear in the next few episodes? They were sweet together, and I liked Roxie. Also, I'm glad that Roxie as an idea has been around for a while - they didn't just go, "Oh, let's have Angela have a lesbian fling!" No, Roxie has been mentioned by name before. It's actually an interesting tie to her past, a way to have Angela look at herself and how she's changed since college. It's clearly not going to last - this isn't a relationship that has developed since college, it's a direct throwback at a time when both of them are vulnerable. I think it'll be important to Angela in regards to how she sees the future and I'm interested to know what this has to do with Hodgins (who knows their history).
Also: Sweets and Daisy. I’m not really surprised; I’ve been wondering why they hadn’t followed up on that phone call. I’m not sure how I feel about it. But I’m also not an unbiased judge, so. :P Does this mean Daisy will be around more? I hope not. But that was really sweet of him, to kiss her in front of all of them like that. Oh, Sweets. Oh, also: he doesn’t have his own card onto the platform. I wonder when/if that’ll happen? It was an important moment in Booth and Brennan’s partnership, when she told him she trusted him enough to give him full access to her world. I wonder whether Sweets will ever get that, or if they’ll show us when he does. He’s already got that kind of tacit acceptance, the way they use him in interrogations and all go to him for help.
Pretty good episode, overall. They keep coming up with unusual and intriguing premises for the cases, things that make them all distinct, and that's impressive.
