Ok, so. The Dark Knight was just as amazing as everyone said. I was fully prepared for it to be mind-blowing, and still, my mind was blown. The audience burst into spontaneous applause three times during this movie (ok, once at the end, but still), and I think it could have been more, but I don't think the audience was blinking for a good three-quarters of that movie, let alone able to move enough to clap. The applause didn't come at the best moments, it came at the unexpected and awesome ones in scenes that were otherwise excellent but not unusual.
You know how the last one was awesome, cool, oh-my-god-this-is-amazing good? This one was edge-of-the-seat, captivating, incapable-of-rational-thought good. In other words, go see it.
There are things I want to say about it, but I really need to go to bed, seeing as I'm leaving in 8-9 hours to spend the weekend in Providence. I'm actually hoping I'll get to see it in IMAX there. Though I really shouldn't be allowed to drive home all adrenaline-filled after seeing movies like this. It was almost as bad with Fight Club, but I didn't drive after that. Thank God. But I'll try to post thoughts later, because there were some truly excellent things that I want to discuss.
