Because this has een bugging me since yesterday, when I had two hours on a train to think about stupid things like the intricate details of Lost:
In the jungle, just before Desmond runs off to save Claire, he gets this look like "My save-someone sense is tingling," and he looks rather confused for a few seconds, and then he runs off towards the beach. Now, this makes sense if he was just trying to save Claire. BUT, at the end of the episode, he says that Charlie is the one who's going to die, and Charlie was the one he was trying to save. So earlier, when he brought Charlie and Hurley into the jungle to meet Locke and Sayid, he was already trying to save Charlie, by getting him out of range of knowledge.
So why did he look so confused?
