By the way....I will not be graduating till December, but hey....that means I will only be taking a semester off until grad school instead of a year. This is a good thing. I can pretty much study for my GRE's and then jump right into U of H grad school. I have also been doing my internship at a all boys private school called Live Oak Canyon. This school is from grades K-High School. All the boys are emotionally disturbed and most live in groups homes. Most have been kicked out of public and private schools, and are on probation. I have seen kids try to kill staff and other students during school, heard every cuss word in the book, there are time-out rooms with reinforced walls that they put students in. (my favorite student is named Bobby. he is 12 and probably one of the worst kids in the school, but is too cute. his grandparents thung him by his thumbs and that why he lives in a group home now. BUT....he calls the teacher a cunt....which is not good. he is still my favorite) Anyways....I have only been there for 50 hours and they want me to come back next semester. This has been an awesome experience for me. I now know that I want to counsel emotionally disturbed children and do family counseling as well. Maybe some marriages on the side, but not very many people can do this, have a passion for it, and absolutly love it so i am going to go ahead and pursue it. I could go on forever about the experiences I have had so far with certain students and what a day is like at this school, but I just have to say these are the kids the world has forgotten about and I think I need to remember them.
