Wanted: One best friend to travel to White Castle with...

Jan 23, 2005 03:53

So school was closed on Thursday due to the snow and ice. We had a two-hour delay on Friday, but I took it upon myself to not go in at all, because, that's how I roll. Today was a great day. I woke up at noon and trudged around the house. Read some emails, replied to some emails, read the latest Slashdot stories and got dressed, you know, the usual routine. I went to Farmville today and hung out with Emily and Kenzie. We went to Wendy's and Via Cappuccino in Greenville again. It really is a nifty place. I'll have to visit the one in Rocky Mount some time. After getting back from Greenville and sitting outside in the freezing cold for a few minutes, we went inside and watched "Brother Bear" on television. A little while after that went off, I decided that it was about time that I headed home. I'd been getting a few calls from Chris and from what I could gather, it sounded as if he were ready for me to be home so we could hang out. I hate to leave my friends hanging like that, but, I'd informed him earlier this week that I'd most likely be in Farmville if he decided to come to Tarboro. I know that he lives a good three hours away from Tarboro and that he didn't drive all that way just to come hang out with his dad. But, I was with my girlfriend and honestly that took top priority. I know, I know. What a great friend I am, right? So I was all ready to leave, but it's just never quite that simple. Never. Leaving is always the hardest part about going to visit Kenzie. I know that it's inevitable, but I hate to see it come. So I always end up prolonging the goodbyes. This time it lasted for a little over an hour (new record!) I really hate that I took Kenzie away from her company for that long, I really do (sorry Emily.) I didn't mean for it to take so long, but time always seems to go by so fast. Faster than you can imagine. One seven hour day of being with her always goes by in the blink of an eye. You'd be amazed. If I could see her a few times a week, I'm sure that leaving wouldn't be quite (note: quite) as hard. But that doesn't happen. It's pretty tough living a bit over 27 miles away from the person that you love. All we have during the week is the phone, which isn't so bad, but it isn't anywhere near the real thing. Sigh. Perhaps I'm blowing this too out of proportion. But then again, maybe I'm not. I can't help it. So after an hours worth of talking and goodbyes, sorry again, Emily, I finally began my journey back home. I called Chris and told him that I'd be home shortly so that he could go ahead and meet me at my house. We talked for a bit, got something to eat and then watched some movies ("Team America" and "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.") Harold and Kumar are pure genius. Some day I hope to have a best friend that I could journey to a fast food restaurant with. White Castle's burgers are pretty amazing. If I could only give one line of advice to Kenzie as she travels to Memphis in the near future: go to White Castle. It's (probably) worth the three hour drive to the White Castle in Nashville. I mean, come on. Three hours. Look what Harold and Kumar had to go through. Anyway, Chris is asleep and it's nearly 4AM so I guess I'll be going to sleep in a few minutes. Enjoy!

P.S. - I really need to become a better photographer. Proof: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
