I know. I know. It's been a week and my last entry mentioned I was heading to the New England Fan Experience.
What happened?
Well, the event was up to the standard expected - mostly chaos with streches of nothing to do. I was in the audience as Leonard Nimoy was handed a plaque making November 14th "Leonard Nimoy Day" in Boston. But as the guy read from the plaque before handing it to Mr. Nimoy, the dedication turned into an advert for the convention - go figure. PLUS (and this is the fun part) the plague had 1963 as the start date for Star Trek - not 1966. So all that effort and the dedication needs a rewrite! But Mr. Nimoy was amazing and gracious. I'm soo glad I decided to get a picture taken with him.
As for Mr. Garteh David-Lloyd?
He be fine. :-D
I had my picture taken Saturday but my side of the photo didn't look too good SO I had another taken on Sunday. Not much better but not as bad either. I don't think that man has ever had a bad picture taken - he's good looking in both photos. Loved being in the audience for his Q&A sessions. Had a lot of fun asking him why the Welsh embassador in Lost Souls sounded French. Everyone got a great laugh from that. He said he was using his own accent for it. Have a mentioned he has a great laugh?
His signature now graces the CD of "Sin Eaters"...probably should have had him sign the cd insert but a signed CD works much better for me. :-)
I really hope he had a great time in Boston.
Had gone to the dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday but only Corin Nemec went around the tables and talked to everyone. My guess is that people were still adjusting to a new time zone. THere was a so-called radio play after dinner. Corin Nemec was an adult berd living with his parents who didn't understand him. Gareth was host of a call-in talk show. Forgot his character's name [McLaren?!?] which I'm sure would make Gareth happy if he knew. Why? Because throughout the play he 'corrected' the name to "Doctor Jones." Doctor Ianto Jones. It was a rather lame play. Corin did an awesome nerd voice so between that and Gareth's performance it was much improved. :-}
About the people I met:
They were great but I'm not good with names. I hate it. All I can do is a general "Hey, guys! Nice to have met you. It was fun. :)" instead of personalizing it. It s*ks to be me sometimes. :(
Anyways: Hello, everyone I met at NEFE! :D
On the writing front:
went to library yesterday (Friday - I'z on vaca until Dec). Wrote for an hour, working on currently posted story and on 2nd story. Decided to leave stuff out of the current story so no Agent Johnson or Gwen & Rhys - although I do know what they're doing during the story. I'm just not putting it in. Wrote most of THE scene - the one I saw in my head that got me to start writing the story. Also, tried to recover my memories of how the 2nd story got resolved and who was the guilty party in it. Not much success but the writing of the story has begun. Here's hoping I don't procrastinate. :-}
Well, that's it. Later!
