Motherly Concerns

Wow, I just spent the past hour listening to a pair of women complain about coddled, disobedient children, the economy, daylight savings, and other related topics, while I was sorting A LOT of newsletters alphabetically by last name. I realize the previous sentence is a little long, but, damn could these women talk. I don't know what I enjoyed/abhorred most about their conversation. I agreed that children are becoming more and more spoiled and that adults don't want to act like adults and discipline their children. I thought to myself that I wouldn't allow my children to be spoiled and disrespectful, but hard workers and honest. They also talked about social security, illegal aliens, and three months paid maternity leave. Yeah, the economy and politics don't interest me at all. It's cyclical, it fluctuates. I don't know much about my social security and how the generation before me may have sucked the money dry, but I know that life goes on. The country's already in debt, what's a little more? Life changes as do the aspects of life i.e. money, health, family, etc. However, no matter what happens, people will find a way to get through problems. Perhaps, by the time I'm seventy, a large asteroid will hit the earth or we'll be able to easily manipulate atoms/molecules. Basically, I don't see why these women were complaining about the distant future. It's not really worth it. Also, why should anyone care what another thinks? Hmmm. I have to get back to sorting newsletters. I still have an inch or so to go. *grimaces* Lucky me.
