First Date

Feb 18, 2007 19:16

Yesterday while I was working at the pool, a man came in. He appeared to be well known by some of the patrons and the employees. Turns out he used to work here. He was in North Manchester visiting his mother. We talked for a good portion of the afternoon and it was very pleasant conversation to be sure. A few minutes after he left, the phone rang. He asked me out on a date for Sunday. Since this event was important enough for me to write about it, one must gather that the date went very well. I'm very happy giddy right now. I feel like an idiot announcing this, but we even had our first kiss. Not too bad, not too bad at all. It was a little awkward, but nothing a little practice can't fix.

Let me give you a dossier...
Name: Ben
Age: 28
Occupation: Choral Director
Family: Father recently deceased, Mother lives in N.Manchester, has two younger Sisters.

What caught my attention yesterday was a few choice sayings he used. "adult in training" being one. These sayings reminded me of my papa. Ben likes to talk with his hands. This may have something to do with his profession.

We went out to an early dinner; Ruby Tuesday in Warsaw. Then we walked around for a while. We swung on the swings at the Town Life Center. He dropped me off at work. During the date I felt young...stupid young, and a bit nervous. I'll see him again. He gets out of work early on Wednesdays and may be back in N.Manchester this next weekend.

Did I mention I'm happy?
Really happy?
As in "I just went on an actual date and had a good time" happy?
