Tuesday Randoms
Quick update while I'm at the net cafe...
[*] Half way through watching Season 5 of One Tree Hill that Jodz lent me. Still not sure about the 4 year gap. I miss the way it was before but I'm kinda liking how it is now. Totally fell in love with little Jamie. CUTE!!! :) Not really liking Lindsay or Nanny Carrie.
[*] Spent Friday and Saturday night at Nan's while she was away seeing my uncle, just so Mish could get used to being at Nan's while I'm away in Tassie for Xmas. Rained the whole time which was nice because we haven't had that much rain in ages. Got home on Sunday only to find my parcel box that I attached to my verandah for the parcel man to put mail in for me, was totally filled with water and there was Cassy's 3kg swap of Slam A Day slams and excess in there! :( Yup swimming in at least 10 or more litres of water because the stupid parcel man didn't put the lid back on properly. GRR! So I spent Sunday and yesterday trying to dry out and save about 40 slams. *sigh* And I'm not exaggerating when I say they were totally wet. Like I opened the satchel and at least 3 litres of water came gushing out. I wasn't expecting to be able to save any of the slams at all but I managed to save all Cassy's Slam A Day slams except one which I remade for her. And all the excess slams she sent me didn't make it. :( So I remade them for the owner and another for the maker to say sorry.
[*] I bidded on Alicia Keys concert tickets for the show tomorrow night. My max bid was $48 and checked my account this morning. I didn't win. You know how much they went for? $345!!! Goodness me!
[*] So the crochet thing... is still driving me nuts. I finally worked out the rug/blanket I wanted to do. I got the double bed measurements off the net and started it at Nan's over the weekend. Got a little way through it and thought that it looked a little wide for a double bed. Checked it against Nan's queen bed and sure enough it was wider than the queen bed! GRR! So I chucked a hissy fit and undid it all and decided to wait until I got home to start it again. Started it on Sunday. Measured it off my own bed like I should have in the beginning. Did the first row of double trebles, then four rows of double crochets and was sitting there thinking, once again, this seems a little wide to me. Checked it against my bed and how in the hell it managed to be wider than the bed I don't know but it was! GRR! I think it's when I do the double trebles that it makes it really wide. So I had to undo it all over again and this time I measured a lot shorter than I needed and then did the double treble and yes I was right, when you do that at the beginning it makes it wider. So I'm all good now. I've done about two or three inches of it so far. It just takes a lot of time. I'll post pictures along the way. :)
[*] I'm on a country music kick right now. So strange. I don't know what brought it on. Between Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Kasey Chambers and Shane Nickelson, I'm all set. Can anyone reccommend another gal like Carrie?
