Gotye Is A Genius!

Okay so one of my most fave songs is called 'Learnalilgivinanlovin' by Gotye. He's actually an Aussie guy [musicial genius] named Wally De Backer. You can see why he went for Gotye and not Wally. :p If you haven't heard 'Learnalilgivinanlovin' then you really must get a copy somehow, but I'm not here to talk about that genius of a song, I'm here to talk about another of Gotye's songs.

'Thanks For Your Time' is hilarious! You all simply MUST get yourself a copy. I can soooo see why Darren Hayes likes Gotye. Their styles are similar in regards to this song. Okay so you know, you ring a department, or a hotline or something and you get put on hold for ages and ages and ages and ages. Yeah well this song is for you. This song is gold! I love the lyrics and the simple fact that it has the Telstra "on hold" lady talking in it is FANTASTIC!!!!! :p

You really have to hear the song for yourself, but here are the lyrics:

* * * *
You have been placed in a queue
But your call is valuable
It’s very valuable
We hope this doesn’t inconvenience you
Because you’re valuable
You’re so very valuable!

If you wish to make a complaint
We can handle it, we’re well prepared to handle it
Of course you may have to wait
But that’s understandable
Isn’t that understandable?

Don’t ask me, I just work here man
Don’t ask me, I just work here man

(It sounds to me like you need help!)
We’re very good to you
I hope you know we’re good to you
(Let me put you through to someone else)
They’ll know just what to do!
I’m sorry, I can’t help you

Don’t ask me, I just work here man

Why don’t you fill out a form?
We can’t get back to you
Of course we can’t get back to you
But rest assured, we’ll take your comments on board
Your thoughts make change!

Thanks for your time
(Don’t ask me, I just work here man)
Thanks for your time
(Don’t ask me, I just work here man)
Thanks for your time
(Don’t ask me, I just work here man)
Thanks for your time

…let’s spend some time together…
We’ll save you money!

You just have to hear the Telstra lady. I swear I heard the song for the first time last night and nearly pissed myself laughing! I kidd you not. And I love the bit where he sings "Don’t ask me, I just work here man". Classic!

Luv Bali.
