I still have you.
character; Elena Gilbert
canon; The Vampire Diaries
journal; descendent

♥○
The Big Sister

Despite how angry he has been at his sister for many things that he's eventually forgiven her for, he puts Elena first. Jeremy will always put her first after everything they've been through and everything they've survived. Through their parents dying and being switched over to Aunt Jenna's care, they had each other and they were the only ones that knew what it was like to have their parents and to then lose them. On top of that, they are the only ones to know what it's like to lose all the people that they've lost, to be surrounded by death and tragedy at every turn, and to have to grow up too fast in Mystic Falls as Gilberts, the basically normal humans.

They both know what it's like to try to be tossed aside while others make decisions for them to protect them. Elena has been guilty of that with Jeremy before, but they've reached a new relationship in Chicago based on trust where they can be open with each other.

Before Aunt Jenna's funeral (a funeral this Elena never went to, but he knows the sentiment is the same for him), Elena apologized to him. She said she was sorry that he had lost so many people, and he told her (not without a hint of that grief that they both share), I still have you.

It wasn't about anyone else at that moment.

It was just the two of them.

I get why it'd be hard, but I can't really imagine Chicago without you, Sarah.
character; Sarah Monroe
canon; Original - BTR Verse

☼♥☄
Best friend. And much more.

No, I would never want you be sorry. Sorry for what? Knowing me? I couldn’t be sorry for that. You’re the strangest person I know, and you’re- you’re such a big part of why I’m- I’ve been so happy here.

Jeremy loves Sarah, and he hasn't really discovered consciously that he is in love with her, that he loves her as much as he does, but he loves her more than he could ever express with words. She is his best friend, and they were friends long before any feelings ever developed. However, as he continued to be her friend, the feelings were born through everything they were going through and through getting to know her and spend as much time with her as he did.

There was always a spark between them (when he met her, he thought she was beautiful and attractive), but it was never of a romantic nature until after they had become best friends. Jeremy can talk to her about anything, and it's almost always easy to talk to her when that's not always something that can be said of him. There are areas that he usually gets stuck at, but with Sarah, it's easy. Her friendship with him, knowing her as he does, it's a comfort to him. He's told that to her himself, but that's so true. She helps center him, and she's helped more than anyone else for him to figure out who he is after everything that's happened.

Jeremy thinks that Sarah is very strong, strange, beautiful, funny, and compassionate. She's understanding, and she takes in all kinds of people, because she isn't thrown off by what others might consider weird or strange. Sarah takes in misfits and cares about them and respects them as they should be respected, and Jeremy has never told her this, but he looks up to her quite a bit and admires her as a person.

I mean, I know it's more complicated than that, but you're a person to me. Not a demon.
character; Anne Hamilton
canon; Original
journal; uponthewires

Cool. Friend.

"Okay. I'm-- it's probably not smart to trust the first person you meet in a place you've never been, but you're not what you think about when they tell kids to not get in the van with a stranger."

Anne is the very awesome person that he met after falling through the Rift. He fell right into Rufus' Shakespearean party, but she was cool enough to leave the party and take him to the Tower. She was also upfront with him about being a demon but it doesn't bother him that she is one. Jeremy still thinks she's a good person and someone he wants to know and hang out with.

He thinks she's really cool in that quirky, cute way. She makes him laugh and smile, and he really wants to become closer friends with her.

Saved Jeremy's life once lol.
character; Alek Hale
canon; Original - BTR verse
journal; servenogods

Great friend. Fighting/anger buddy.

Alek and Jeremy relate on a lot of different levels that one wouldn't think when just looking at the both of them. They both struggle with anger issues. They've both been lied to in order to protect them from something by older siblings, and they both have a habit of expressing their anger in very self destructive ways like launching themselves into a fight with the first person that triggers that anger.

When Jeremy met Alek, he was beating Carter's face in. When Alek and Jeremy later ran into each other, they were both very angry and... ran into Carter again with his gang of buddies. The two of them had their asses handed to them, but their friendship was cemented from that point on.

Jeremy views Alek as a really good guy, loyal friend, and someone that won't let someone's ass get beaten alone, no matter the odds stacked up against them. Alek is a friend that he knows he can count on, and there's no describing how important that is.

He's a bro.
character; Ben Casey
canon; Original - BTR verse
journal; ibegindreaming

Good friend. Funny guy.

Ben is like the rainbow in anyone's group of friends, and Jeremy means this in a very Cool Guy is Cool way, not in a non-manly way. It's just that Ben is probably the most optimistic person that Jeremy has ever met. He always looks on the bright side, and he's happy to jump in at anytime to hangout or lend a hand. He's the quintessential friend that you can count on to be there and to make a funny joke whenever appropriate (and sometimes when others would deem not appropriate). Jeremy thinks it's awesome.

They're also both people who are best friends and in love with young women who have Callings. It gives them quite a few similarities to share, and they connect over not being as strong or as fast as them along with never knowing what it's like to have a Calling. Only knowing that it weighs on them and there's nothing they can do to take it away completely.

Pseudo Alaric
character; Wes Gannon
canon; Original - BTR verse
journal; smokeblowsblack

♥♠
Father figure. To be respected.

Jeremy has not always responded to authority well, and there will likely be times when he still responds to authority with anger or with back talking. However, he does respect those with authority and he especially respects Wes, more than he could likely admit to. The angel has shown him how to fight, taught him how to defend himself, and more. Jeremy appreciates someone giving him that chance to learn how to fight and who respects him enough to not think of him as someone who shouldn't know how to fight.

He looks up to Wes, wants to be more like him, and consequently hates disappointing him or hates not taking his lessons to heart and reacting instead of following what he's learned. It's something that Jeremy can't stand and makes him feel more ashamed at the end of the day since Wes is a very important person in his life. He wants to follow those lessons that he's been so generous to teach them, and Jeremy wants to do right by what he's learned.

character; Damon Salvatore
canon; The Vampire Diaries
journal; idontgethurt

○ ☼ ?
Once snapped Jeremy's neck.

Jeremy looks up when Damon enters, and he sends him one of those looks that's mostly... baffled at this point by Damon's existence.

Jeremy alternates betwen liking Damon and finding him a little annoying. However, he would save Damon's life if he had the opportunity and he's glad Damon is here, because he knows Damon will do everything in his power to keep Elena safe. It's a comfort since Jeremy also wants to protect his sister, and he knows he couldn't do so alone.

It's cute.
