Octobank!

Here is the first of the completed Piggy Banks from my Big Summer Project!

This Octobank lives at the bottom of the ocean and loves to collect ancient coins.

The Octobank is made from high-fire ceramic and painted with acrylic.

The suckers were cut out of a flattened sheet of clay using a straw.

The Octobank is not the first piggy bank I have made, but it is the first that I painted with acrylic. It has been a fun challenge, switching mediums. I used many layers of red, orange and violet o the Octobank's skin, and used a bright blue base and a purple dark wash on its suckers.

The Octobank is about so big, and is plugged with a custom polymer clay cork.
