[Raikov opened the box and took out the tape recorder he had transfered the messages to.]

[Wow. Clearly Raikov was peturbed if he only wanted tea and not, say, vodka. Giovanni quickly made some hot tea and came out with a tray holding a teapot, cups, and sugar. He set them on the coffee table, pouring the tea into the cups before sitting beside the Russian, and handed him a cup and saucer.]

Here. Careful, it's hot.

[He spotted he tape recorder]

So how many of these did he leave you?

[Raikov set his drink on the coffee table for now.]

He originally sent these to my message box.. but I transfered them over to this tape.

[So Raikov played the recordings. After each one ended, he would translate what Volgin said as best he could. The tape ended and Raikov looked back up to his friend]

... I see now why... you did those things in the past.

[Giovanni was silent as the recordings played and listened intently to both the tone of Volgin's voice and that of Ivan's translation. Was still silent even after the recordings ended and Ivan spoke once more. It had managed to remind him of what he couldn't quantify himself when it came to Pokemon. Here, they could turn human and speak and yet still retain some of their power. But where they were originally from, these creatures were captured in balls that kept a hold on their full power, and they could not speak like humans, besides a few species parroting back or psychic types speaking through telekinesis. He remembered learning long ago what Volgin had said: Humans were given dominion over the animals. And wasn't that what they were? Certainly they could be pets and friends, or tools and weapons, but never before this place had he ever placed them on the same tier as humans. In fact, he still didn't. He may have started to treat his own team better, and there was an exception to all of this in the form of Voile,

And what's to stop them from revolting against us? There was an attack earlier in the week. Blacky, Amp, Uxie, and two non-pokemon sub-humans were beaten and tied to a statue. I'm sure you heard about that...

[Raikov put the tape recorder away and clutched the box tightly]

What if they think I did it...? I shot Char on Wednesday because I realized weapons can overpower them... and he needed to learn a lesson. I didn't think... I'd be sending him to the hospital as well...

[He swallowed, his weaker side showing through]

I'm scared, Vanya... I've been avoiding everyone since all this started....
