Damien is at it again, this time with Ray’s daughter.
If it wasn’t his own family being involved, Ray wouldn’t have called, rather forced, Lloyd to come in with the team.
Lloyd wanted to leave the team, after that horrifying experience of seeing a girl die in Damien’s hands. He couldn’t do anything for he was bound to a chair, but he felt obligated to have saved her.
This left Lloyd in a very complicated situation. It left him broken and distant from others. Not his loud mouth self, but instead quiet, as if he retracted into his own world.
“He’s different,” Julianne thought to herself.
She still questions her feelings for Lloyd. It was a great surprise for her when Lloyd told her he loved her. She knew there was some connection between them unlike the rest of the team, but she didn’t know that the connection was love. So even though she denied having other feelings for him besides friendship in their last case, she questions that now.
Julianne thought she lost Lloyd when the police called her, during their last case. She was in absolute distraught on her way to the area Lloyd was at. She started realizing that she cared about Lloyd more than a friend. It angered her that she just realized this when he’s in danger. She was grateful to see him alive getting checked by a medical professional, rather than in the body bag that first greeted her when she arrived. Still, he’s different. Distant. Unlike himself. She knows it isn’t because of their encounter either. She knows whatever occurred between him and Damien had destroyed a bit of him.
Now he’s back at their headquarters even though he requested to leave the team. He stays quiet, while Ray is distraught and shouting about finding leads to where Damien has his daughter. Everyone, including Erica and Shea, remain silent, not daring to say anything to anger Ray even more.
Ray eventually comes to a breaking point, grabbing Lloyd by his collar and shoving him towards a wall. He starts screaming at Lloyd’s face telling him he needs to find a way for them to get to his daughter before Damien does anything to her.
Everyone else cringes from the shouting, and the team starts to feel for Lloyd. They know that he’s having a hard time trying to get back to tracking Damien.
Julianne wished Ray would calm down and not last out his anger towards Lloyd. Even if Lloyd has been quiet, he was working incredibly hard to find a lead. The only thing is that the first lead led them nowhere near Ray’s daughter, and that pissed Ray off.
Ray lets go of Lloyd as Lloyd slumps down the wall, unable to catch up with what just happened. Ray storms into his office and slams his door close.
Julianne makes an effort to help Lloyd up, but he just shrugs her off and gets up on his own.
“You alright, man?” Shea asks Lloyd as he walks towards his desk.
Lloyd does a simple nod and returns his attention towards the postcards and papers lying on his desk. He had a lot of work to do if he had to find out where Damien was.
“He might think he has the upper hand, but I won’t give up,” Lloyd tells himself and returns to work.
The rest of the team looks at Lloyd worriedly, especially Julianne. Eventually, they all return back to work. They needed to find Ray’s daughter.
After several hours of hard work and awkward silences, Lloyd figures out another lead that will bring them to Damien.
“Alright Lloyd, you better be right this time,” Ray started, “I need everyone to come with me, even you Julianne. Take your gun.”
As soon as they were close to the location that Damian was at, Ray receives a call.
“Hello Daddy-oh. You want to talk to your daughter here?” asks Damien with an edge to his voice.
Ray was furious. He started shouting at him.
“I swear if you dare touch her Damien-“
“Ah ah ah. That’s not what I asked. Now that you didn’t answer my question, I won’t give you the sweet chance to talk to your daughter before she dies. Want to know how she’ll die? Well I’ll leave you in speaker, as you get to hear me cock this gun I have. I’ll aim it to her face. Give a couple seconds for you to hear her cries and for me to hear your stupid insults and begging. Then I’ll shoot her. How’s that sound, Ray?”
“Fuck you Damien. Go to hell!”
“Haha! I’ve been in hell, and escaped it!”
At this time, the team arrives at the abandon warehouse. Erica, Shea, and Julianne prepare by putting on their bullet proof vests and getting their guns ready. Ray continues shouting at Damian through the phone. Lloyd stays quiet in the car, contemplating.
He wants to do something. He wants to put an end to all of this, because he feels it is his fault. This all started because of him and his diagnosis of Damien. The last girl that died in Damien’s hands destroyed him. It was his fault, he keeps telling himself. He doesn’t want that to happen again. Not another girl dying because of him.
“Fucking Damien!!!What do you want? Money? I’ll get you it, just leave my daughter alone!”
Lloyd knows Ray’s daughter will die soon if he doesn’t do anything. Lloyd quietly sneaks out the car and into the warehouse.
In the warehouse he sees Ray’s daughter bound to a chair, her cries muffled by the duct tape on her mouth.
“Here we go Ray, are you ready?” Damien says with a sick smile.
“Fuck you Damien. I will kill you-“Ray says as his voice echoes through the warehouse from the speaker phone.
“Three,” starts Damien with a cock of his gun.
Ray’s daughter starts moving around her chair, crying behind the duct tape.
“Damien I swear to God, you will be dead to me-“
“Two.”
“Damian!!!!”
“One.”
A shot echoes through the warehouse and through Ray’s phone. Ray immediately drops his phone and runs into the warehouse with team as they all heard the gun shot as well.
They all go into the warehouse, with Shea and Erica pointing their guns at Damien. Damien drops his gun with a confused expression on his face.
A cry shots out through the warehouse, which Erika and Shea realize was from Ray’s daughter.
“Shhh sweet heart, it’s okay. I got you,” Ray said removing her bounds and duct tape then holding her against him.
“No. No. NO!! NO!!!!”
Everyone turns toward Julianne’s scream and see her hunched over a body.
From all the adrenaline rush and commitment to save Ray’s daughter, the team didn’t realize that Lloyd took the shot.
Damien still confused, took this moment to try to escape, but Shea was quick enough to tackle him down and cuff him.
Erica grabs her cellphone to call 911, while everyone is trying to regain everything that just happened.
Julianne hunches over Lloyd’s body realizing that the bullet has punctured one of his lungs. She uses both her hands to keep pressure on the wound, and keep the large amount of blood from leaving.
“No! No!! Lloyd!!! Don’t leave me! Please don’t go! You can’t leave me! Please Lloyd stay with me!” Julianne screams as she tries to keep pressure at his chest.
Lloyd’s arm slowly moves up, so that his hand lies on top of her hands on his chest. He looks at Julianne with his blue eyes shaded with pain, yet glazed with gladness.
“She’s okay, right? You got him?” Lloyd asks smiling yet blood spurts from his mouth. It’s getting hard for him to breathe.
“Yes. Ray’s daughter is fine. We got Damien, but please stay with me! Lloyd, don’t go! The ambulance is almost here. You have to stay with me, Lloyd!” Julianne pleads as tears starts to cloud her sight.
“Julianne. Y-you’re the m-most beautiful w-woman I’ve ever met. You’re s-strength is a-admirable. I d-don’t regret telling you I love you,” Lloyd confesses as he winces from the pain.
“Lloyd, don’t say that. Everything will be alright, okay? You’re going to be okay!” Julianne says trying to produce a smile to make him more comfortable.
She couldn’t bring herself to do so. It was at this moment that she realized that Lloyd is the only person who truly cared for her and never treated her differently despite her problems. Instead he turned that energy into focusing to help her become better. She loved him. She didn’t want to lose him.
“Please Lloyd. Don’t go!” she started as tears start flowing down her face, “I-I love you.”
She continued keeping the pressure on his chest, even though she knows full well that she can’t keep the blood from slipping through her fingers.
Lloyd stifles a chuckle and winces from doing so. He starts choking on his blood.
“You don’t have to s-say that Julianne.”
“No but it’s true! I love you more than a friend. You mean a lot to me. I need you in my life. I love you Lloyd.”
Lloyd squeezes Julianne’s hand that’s on top of his chest.
“I love you too Julianne.”
At this moment, Lloyd closes his eyes and the last breath leaves him. Julianne realizes the pressure on her hand has left.
Lloyd was gone.
“No! Lloyd! You can’t go!! Please Lloyd,” screams Julianne as tears continue streaming down her face. She holds onto him. She didn’t want to let him go. He was hers.
The medical professionals had to pull Julianne off Lloyd’s body, once they arrived.
Erica, Shea, and Ray stay in shock as they just lost another member of their team. They join Julianne who was on the floor crying. They all hold each other, knowing this moment will be hard to move on from.
Damien, though killing two of their team members, has only made the Breakout Kings a stronger team for future cases.
A/N: Bring on the rocks and tomatoes xD This story was gnawing me since the last episode. We all needed some Julianne/Lloyd after that, but I know it's not how you guys wanted it to end XD I'm a person who loves angsty and fluffy stuff, but I went for the angst like always.
I hope you did somehow like it xD
