The Everlasting Gaze
I just got home from the Billy Corgan show at Avalon. It was AMAZING! He is just such a great musician. There was this wicked tight light wall up in back of him with all digital lights. He played for about an hour and a half. I have never seen anyone in rock be more gracious at the end of a show before. He came out for 3 on cores, thanked the crowd profusely for their support and making it possible for him to be as successful as he is, shook tons of people's hands. Some girl gave him flowers and he read the card aloud that she stuck in them and it read: "Billy, when are you going to start paying the child support?" He was laughing his ass off, it was great. I hadn't heard any of his new album until tonight (it just came out the other day), and I can't wait to go out and buy it as soon as I get out of work tomorrow at Newbury Comics. To anyone reading this, I highly recommend doing the same. I'm as giddy as a school girl, I've been so in love with this man since the age of 9. I'm such a geek, I know, but I'm okay with it. Everyone thinks I'm nuts, because they think he's the creepiest looking man around, but for some reason I find him to be quite sexy. Pumpkins reunion tour is supposedly in the works.. Now that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside just thinking about it. Well that's enough of my ramblings on that subject...
So a long weekend is ahead of us! Whatever it takes to get me out of work for an extra day, I'm down. I'm going up to Bethan's beach house on Sunday night for a kegger, that should be a good time. I hope people want to party on Monday night too around here. Drunken fireworks are ALWAYS a good idea! ;)
