Ever since Naruto had dragged Sasuke back kicking and screaming (and he might as well have been, just in a dark, trying to be that cool way) Sakura had made it her top priority to mend their relationship as a team.

Yeah. Easier said then done.

Enter Try # 234.

The three boys (Naruto, Kakashi, and Sasuke) waited at their usual training spot, upon a certain medic nin's orders. Two seemed nervous, one seemed rather bored. Can anyone guess which was which?

Presently Sakura appeared, smiling brightly as she walked up to them, her arms hidden behind her back. She called out a greeting, and only Naruto returned it, as all were busy eyeing whatever it was she held.

She was only a few feet away when she halted. All stiffened as she slowly brought what was behind her back into view.

"Ta-da!"

Enter a platter of cookies. Chocolate Chip, to be precise.

Now, none of them had ever actually tasted her cooking before, therefore, none of them knew what, exactly, should they think. Well, none of them except for Naruto, but, then again, no one in the world could ruin ramen, so he was as clueless as the other two.

Seeing as it both looked and smelled delicious, Naruto and Kakashi decided to take their chances, and both reached for one. Sakura looked at them expectantly, and they exchanged glances before shrugging.

Then they bit in -- Kakashi, of course, using his awesome ninja skills to somehow keep his face hidden.

And promptly tasted what had to be the incarnation of hell. No words could describe how the cookie tasted both as rough and scratchy as sandpaper yet as soggy as if had been soaked in water and was barely holding onto its form; how the chocolate tasted more like something else of the same color, how--oh, I guess you can describe it with words.

Naruto coughed loudly in hopes of covering up his expression while Kakashi fought the need to gag. Sakura looked immediately concerned.

"Are you okay, Naruto?" she asked.

"Yeah...just fine Sakura-chan," he managed to get out. "Just ate it too fast....to get more of the great taste!"

Sasuke rolled his eyes. To him, at least, Naruto's lie was obvious and pathetic. Couldn't he think of something better then that? Not exactly a smart move--it alerted Sakura to his presence.

"Sasuke! You haven't tried one~" The medic gave him a hopeful look.

"I don't like sweets."

Cue eye twitch, and two smarter people backing away.

"Just...at least...try one," she managed to grit out.

"No."

Try # 234: Failed.

Cue fist clenching. "Sasuke..." she warned, handing the platter to Naruto, who eyed it like it was Orochimaru.

Sasuke just walked away, obviously thinking the conversation was over.

That thought was quickly changed when within a second he was fifty feet away with a broken jaw and various other bruises.

Later, the people of Konoha would say they had never seen Team 7 so close.

Try # 235: Succeeded.
