Notes: I finally finished Hana to Akuma this November. I'd recently watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and this little drabble popped out soon afterwards. My yearly post-all-unposted-fanfiction spree is beginning!
One Simple WishHana loves Vivi.
And Hana's always known it. Always, from those first tottering steps, desperately following him, wanting to get close- earlier, even, when she came out of the snow that first time, and smiled, wanting nothing more than anything to reach out to him- she's loved him nearly her entire life. She's always known this.
What she didn't know was how much, how much it would hurt when she saw him kissing his fiancee, how much he brought to her life because she couldn't remember a time when he wasn't there, how much-
how much she loves him.
How she loves him.
And, perhaps most importantly, how much it hurts to think of how he'll forget her, how he'll move on when her fragile human life finally ends.
The creature looks up at her, ever-smiling. It's not quite a cat . That's how it must have gotten in through Vivi's barriers.
It never occurs to Hana to be suspicious.
"Do you have a wish?" it asks.
Hana loves Vivi. And- she loves the world too. Her friends- both humans and demon- and if witches threatened that- if she could help- then shouldn't she?
All she needs is a wish. And-
She loves Vivi, more than anything.
Hana looks at the not-quite-a-cat, and makes her wish.
