Jack had made it through the night before without a full transformation. It hadn't been easy, but he figured the important thing was that he'd done it.

And now, pot brownies. He let himself into the not-very-creepy-at-all mansion and helped himself to a cup of Mike's coffee. "Hello."

"Hey," Mike said with a manly nod, lifting his own coffee cup in greeting. "Ready for the big night?"

Of potentially seeing Derek high. Yes, big night.

"I'm just here to see if Derek really gets high," Jack confided. "Do you think he's the giggly type?

"I don't know, man," Mike admitted. "I think just about anything's possible with Derek."

Because he was so repress-y.

"I don't think he would have suggested this if it made him paranoid," Jack speculated. "Though -- you're right. He might like that feeling."

"See? There's no telling with him."

He was going to be adorably huggy, though. But that'd only become apparent a little later.

"But at least it's a way quieter night 'round here than most full moons."

"And I'm doing a better job holding up my end of the conversation than I normally am at this time of the month," Jack said. "It's not a bad feeling at all."

"I saved your Pucker for you." He was a great friend like that.

"I knew you would," Jack said graciously and in a tone that in no way suggested Derek should, perhaps, consider fucking off and dying. "But I think I'll stick with coffee. Goes better with brownies."

Derek just smirked, offering over a brownie to prepare for the eclipse. "Start early. It gives it a chance to digest and take effect."

Jack nodded, taking the brownie. "I've only ever smoked it," he said. "So you're the expert for the night."

Derek made a face. "Smoking doesn't work for me."

Because he coughed. A lot.

"Werewolf thing, or you don't like it?" Jack asked. "Probably better that way. Smoking anything is a terrible habit."

As Jack would know, as he'd never completely stopped having a cigarette every so often.

"And it smells." Also, his old house. "Mike's sticking around."

"It's his house too." Or, you know, his house entirely, depending on how seriously one took little things like legal ownership. "Anyone else stopping by?"

"Stiles. I think he just wants to make fun of us." And Derek was allowing it after yesterday.
