1 - After the thread with Sakura, chronologically?expiatriceJune 8 2011, 10:11:38 UTC
[Sakura's been made to go back to her room and rest. She wasn't able to do much back in the Church, but given her fragile mindset then and all the extra tension that surrounded them, being back "home" now should at least ease some of that, and having talked with her friend Rider would have helped.
...
Hopefully...
But at any rate, now that the chaos has finally settled, it's about time that she has a serious talk with Rider, whom she've already gathered to have been the chief person who looked after Sakura back in Fuyuki City.]
Rider, is that right? If you don't mind, would it be okay to talk for a bit? I could put on some tea too, if you'd like. [She asks courteously with a small smile. Odds are that Sakura probably mentioned her to Rider, so the other woman would likely have a good idea already of what this might be about.]
Sounds good to me. breaker_gorgonJune 10 2011, 05:14:22 UTC
[Rider would nod politely, accepting the offer for the talk...and the tea.]
That would be lovely, thank you very much. And, yes. Please call me Rider. You’re Ciel, correct? Sakura speaks highly of you. I’m in your debt, truly. You’ve been a great help to her.
[She studied the other girl as carefully as she could comfortably manage. So this woman looked after the whole house? Admirable.]
[She'll get on it then, leading Rider to the kitchen and starting to boil the water as she keeps talking. This won't take long anyway to set the kettle on the stove, so she'll join the other woman by the table once that's done.]
Mm, you're welcome. That's right, and I've been with Matou-san ever since the first day that she woke up in Mayfield, assigned as a 'daughter' in this household. It's only natural to look after her, so you don't have to thank me for that. [She smiles back, nodding.] I didn't expect things to turn out as they have, but it does seem that we are both from the same overarching world, though coming from different cities. I have already heard about the Grail Wars even before meeting her, but it's Matou-san who told me about her condition, after the town returned to her the huge amount of prana that she possessed as the vessel. [Her demeanor does shift to a more serious air as she keeps going.] I'm no magus, but I do know a bit about magecraft, so I've been tutoring her during our free time to control that prana.
( ... )
[She took a seat as instructed, crossing her legs under the table and watching her host busy about the kitchen.]
She must really have been shaken, waking in a strange place such as this. If it were not possible for me to be at her side, I’m relieved she had someone to comfort her. The home pairing here is odd, but to find someone who is from a similar world and knowledgeable as you is a great deal of luck. It pains me to think what could have happened to her if that prana had gone unchecked.
[She’s thoughtful for a moment before continuing.]
She’s told me quite a bit of the things she’s been doing. She seems stronger, but I cannot help the worry in my heart for her. She deserved her happiness. And in my time, she had it. You give her that small bit of normalcy back. For that, I’m grateful. It’s the best that can be done for her, I know. I just wish I could do more.
Aha, she adjusted quickly. While I do agree, things have turned out okay, so let's not worry about the bad things that could have happened. She's been doing good with Numerology. Have you heard of it? That branch of thaumaturgy takes root in Ancient Greece, with mathematician philosophers such as Pythagoras. I've flavored my own practice accordingly to French, and she's been doing the same with German. Her Shadow Element is effective against spiritual entities, so we're focusing on drawing out the Water Element for more practical uses against other physical beings.
[She nods with a small smile. A trifle helpless, but well-meaning.] I feel the same way. I understand her situation, and while she has been through a lot, she still has dreams that can be fulfilled. She has a good life waiting for her, outside of here, so I'll do everything that I can to keep her spirits up until then. She's such a sweet and self-sacrificing girl... Sometimes, it's a bit hard to get her to tell me what she wants, as opposed to what everyone else wants. She
( ... )
Hm, yes, I’ve heard of numerology and the Pythagoreans. I’m not familiar with the specifics, but I understand it’s quite involved. Sakura is a very smart girl. I’m glad to hear she’s applying herself. She chooses to sit on the sidelines, but she holds so much potential that it’s staggering. For you to be able to encourage her is a blessing. She really must liken you to a parent.
[She returns the gesture, looking a bit more resolved if not relieved.]
We’ll both help her through. I’d gladly do anything for Sakura. We will keep her safe and sane until she can go home; no matter how long that takes. I know, with time, she’ll think more for herself and the things she needs. She simply loves fiercely and thinks that such love requires the sacrifice of her own happiness. I feel that with your assistance, she’ll understand it’s not supposed to be so difficult to love. For all of this, I am appreciative of you, more than you know.
Oh god sorry this took so long ;;; 1/2expiatriceJuly 6 2011, 11:30:01 UTC
That's right. Her naturally born ability is referred to as "Imaginary Numbers", if I recall correctly, so I thought that this might be a good school to translate her abilities into. ...Ah, I'm not that old myself, and I'm not sure if the comparison is wholly accurate, but I do believe that we're both glad, to have been sorted with each other in the same house like this.
[She chuckles quietly.]
Mm, yes. ...Well, actually, I have to say that sometimes loving may require some form of sacrifice. I think that I can understand why she thinks that way, but it doesn't have to be this clearly cut, nor does it necessarily have to be a bad thing. What nags at me more is that...
[At that, her light expression grows a bit helpless and heavy.]
She has difficulty living for herself. It's not bad to count on someone else, but her level of dependency is detrimental to her own well-being, and I'd like to change that. ...If it's okay for me to ask, Rider, since you did know her before both of you came here... Do you think that what I'm saying may be accurate? I don't want to presume.
No worries! :,D ♥breaker_gorgonJuly 7 2011, 05:32:45 UTC
[She’d giggle slightly, almost warmly.]
Ah, forgive me. I didn’t mean to imply you were old enough to be a mother simply that you seem mature enough to be one. I don’t have to be in a room with you long to deem you matriarch. You just have the kind of command a parent possesses. I think that’s a very likable trait.
[Her smile would still be visible but perhaps a bit more nostalgic.]
Love may require some bit of sacrifice, but not nearly as much as she’s willing to give up. At the risk of sounding like I may be degrading her, I would have to agree with you. Her feelings of adequacy are tied directly to one or two main people. Her happiness is their happiness. Their sadness is her personal failure, if you can understand my meaning. I have done my best to support her and to boost her confidence, but I think whatever progress I attained is overshadowed by the helplessness she feels here. I wonder. What do you think can be done to help her? I’m open to any input you can give.
Ah, I suppose that I can't argue against that. There are a lot of reckless teenagers here, you know, so someone has to keep an eye on him. [She smiles back in turn, but it doesn't seem complaintive.] Ehe... Thank you. You seem to have the airs of a collected big sister too, Rider.
...Yes, I can. If Emiya-kun ever comes back, as people sometimes do here, I will definitely ask this of him too, but in the meanwhile, I will also continue to do everything in my power. She is strong and kindhearted, which is why aside from her magical and physical exercises, we've done a lot of normal things together, like shopping, cleaning, cooking, and baking. I think... Maybe that will help. Just small things that a normal and happy life is made of, things that we may not realize but are still blessings in their own right. These are small steps, but I do hope that she will come to enjoy them for her own sake. We can only be with her if she needs anyone to talk to or rely on. ...What do you think?
I must get used to the fact that people come and go like the weather here. It still doesn’t sit right with me.
But yes, Shirou is as integral to Sakura’s happiness as oxygen is to her breathing. I’m sure you know that.
I agree that she is strong but precious in that she does not know her own strength. I’m guilty of wanting to protect and shelter her from anything that may pose harm to her. In doing so, I may have hushed some of her inner strength.
I believe in your methods and support them wholely. She needs to be shown that there is normality in life at that she can attain it without losing a part of herself.
You and I will be the open arms and listening ears, all else is up to her. I think it’s best that way.
It shouldn't, but we have to be ready. Matou-san, you, and I myself, we could all get droned without a moment's notice. I do truly hope that they won't have to be apart from each other again, but regardless of if Emiya-kun comes back or Matou-san leaves, I will continue to do what I can. [Nod; she knows that Rider feels the same way.] ...But please don't blame yourself. She has been working hard, so if something does come up when we can't be directly by her side, I have faith that she will be able to overcome the obstacle by herself.
Mm. Thank you for your support, Rider. I wouldn't wish this town on anyone, but seeing that we are already here... It's still very nice to know someone close to her being so willing to assist. For that, I'm just as grateful.
So late! Sorry! D:breaker_gorgonJuly 30 2011, 03:05:51 UTC
I understand. If Sakura is droned, I can only hope that her spirit is placed in the time that I came from. It is one where she and Shirou share a deep affection for one another. The people still living in that house are happy. Even Rin has the clout she desires.
Be that as it may, I want Sakura to be happy even if she has to stay. Even if she is denied the simple life of our time, I want her to find contentment in all that we can give her and all that she learns to give herself.
I thank you for all you’ve done, Ciel. You have my support and my admiration. I’m sure you’re more than capable, but if you should need anything, please call on me. I’d be honored to consider you a friend.
NO WORRIES! LJ's been wonky for everyone, >>;expiatriceJuly 31 2011, 09:40:03 UTC
Ah, I'll pray for that cause as well. I've known some people whose consciousness left this place and came back, while holding accounts that they've returned to their world in the meanwhile. It's where she belongs, so that would be the ideal conclusion to this all.
[She nods quietly; they really agreed on every count.]
Aha... Please, Rider. I could say the same for you; you were the one who supported her during the times that she needed most, through the trying events of the fifth Heaven's Feel. But I feel the same way; you will contract her once more if your Servant status is returned, correct? I realize that a human can't well compare to a Heroic Spirit, but if there's anything that I may also do for you, I will hear you and do my best to assist anytime.
God, LJ is whoring like mad. :<breaker_gorgonAugust 2 2011, 04:13:39 UTC
That makes me very hopeful. It’s quite sad to hear that someone would have to come back after going home, but that at least means there is a possibility of leaving.
[At this point she’d tuck a bit of hair behind her ear thoughtfully.]
Of course. I will always stay beside Sakura no matter what form she desires me to take. If I become a servant, and she requests it so, then I will be hers.
You’re very strong of mind and spirit, Ciel and Sakura thinks so highly of you. I am very pleased to have you standing beside us.
At least it's being fixed, slowly but surely...expiatriceAugust 2 2011, 14:29:25 UTC
That's what we all hope for. [Nothing... is definite, but hope still matters after everything else.
She chuckles faintly there.] Won't it be troublesome for you too, if you were to regain your Servant body but lack a Master to anchor you to this world? ...Lancer has accidentally done himself in for waiting too long, once. But he's a... different case, so this shouldn't happen to anyone else. [She can't quite keep the amusement out of her tone or expression.] You will also establish a mental link, correct? That would allow you to assist Matou-san better, so would a contract not be beneficial to you both?
...Aha. Please, Rider. The exact same applies to you, so please stop taking away everything that I would otherwise say to you, too...
...
Hopefully...
