two big matches are happening today in the second leg of the champion's league quarterfinals. chelsea will visit valencia at the mestalla to follow up their first leg 1-1 draw at stamford bridge, and roma will visit manchester united at old trafford to try to maintain their 2-1 first leg victory at the stadio olimpico. both first leg matches were held this time last week and the winners, by aggregate(total goals combined from each leg, away goals breaking ties), will progress to the semi-finals. these two games are going to prove to be the more exciting of the quarterfinal match-ups.
for those of you stateside, both games will be played today multiple times on various espn channels throughout the day, so for those of you that have been wanting some exposure to high quality football a la the world cup, try and catch one of these games later tonight after work. most consider the latter stages of the champion's league to be the best football one can find on the planet(mls fans, don't watch, it will make you cry). check
espn's tv listings to find a time and channel. myself i don't have cable, but my sister's going to record the roma match at 2:30 on espn2 for me to watch later, and setanta sports(which i have via
ITVN) has the chelsea/valencia match so I'm set.
i also made a new temporary banner for my vox page. sometimes it's weird to me how much i like orange. especially orange with black.
