Last night was a great night that ended very badly.
I got to see The Slackers for the first time ever last night and I've been wanting to see them for years. They put on a fantastic show, playing a lot of my favorite songs and they even had the singer from Hepcat come on stage to sing two songs. For not knowing anyone there and not speaking to anyone for the whole night less the ticket scanner at the door, it was really really fun.
The not fun part came on my way home.
I was riding my bike, on the sidewalk -not the street, at about midnight, only another 10 minutes from home, and as I crossed an intersection the car coming out from the left ran the STOP sign and hit me.
My leg was crushed between his car and my bike but luckily no broken bones. I was knocked off my bike and my glasses flew off my face so I couldn't make out the license plate at all. The car paused for a second and then took off as I was laying in the middle of the intersection screaming for someone to get his plate number. All I know is that it was a silver Mercedes. Another bike rider saw this happen and took off after the guy. He came back about 20 minutes later to let me know he tried to catch up to the guy but he was going way too fast.
So now I'm injured, my bike is totaled and I'm out $15 now for the cab I had to take home.
And the fucking Mercedes driver gets off scott free.
