Agree with 'Nine'.. I was so excited about that film, like reeeeeeeeeally excited. And then I saw it and it was like.. *blank face*. There are a few scenes/songs I still really love (NOT cinema italiano) and I adore Marion, but the way everything came together was weird, plus the musical its actually based on has so much more going on, and the film is just obviously exploiting the stars rather than the plot/biopic side to it.
I wish Hollywood wern't so scared of musicals, the reason half of them fail is because the producers panic and try to mess with it in order to gain a bigger audience, they all need to take a look at Phantom of the Opera, that isn't ashamed of what it is (mostly because its produced by Lloyd Webber) and how well that did. Highest grossing independant film of all time, just saying!
